is it best to wait for Dysport to wear off or go back and try to fix the issue? (photos)

Question

Had Dysport 7 days ago in forehead and 11's. Now I have huge wrinkles above both eyebrows and still not smooth in the middle of my forehead. This was done by a board certified plastic surgeon. Should I go back for him to fix it or is it best to let it wear off? I'm scared it will look worse!!!

I recommend a two week follow up for all patients. It takes two weeks for any neuromodulator to have its maximum effect. I don't believe this is your final result and if the wrinkles are there beyond two weeks then they will need additional treatment. Your plastic surgeon did not do anything wrong - every person's anatomy is different and you're jumping the gun a little bit here. Best wishes, Dr. Aldo

It can take 1-2 weeks for final results with Dysport. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have a touch-up of Dysport or Venus legacy treatments can help soften results. Dysport results will last 3-4 months in new areas of treatment. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for the question and pictures.   Given that two weeks hasn't passed yet, I would wait and then get a touch-up from your doctor if you still have these lines.  Just a couple of units above the brow should relax these lines.  Good luck!

Thanks for your photo and question. Dysport® can actually take up to 2 weeks to fully settle into place and create the desired effect, so I wouldn’t worry too much at this stage. If you’re still unhappy with your results in another week, I recommend visiting your injector for a touchup. Good luck!

Thank you for your question and submitting your pictures. It can take 10-14 days for neuromodulators such as Dysport to take full effect. It is not uncommon to see your condition as many injectors in an effort to avoid a heavy eyebrow will avoid injecting too far down. It is much easier to perform a slight touch-up than have a patient live with a heavy brow for 2-4 months. If your condition persists beyond 10 days, I suggest scheduling a follow-up with your physician for a touch up.

Thank you for your question and for submitting your photos.  It can take up to 14 days to see the final results of a Dysport treatment.  Dysport doesn't always take effect evenly during those first two weeks, so it's not uncommon to see slightly uneven forehead lines or brow position while waiting for the final results.  I would recommend waiting an additional week, and then following-up with your plastic surgeon if you still have concerns.  Even if this is your final result, it can easily be fixed with a small touch-up treatment in the forehead.  Best of luck!

It takes approximately two weeks to see the full effect of Dysport treatment. I always check my patients 15 days after the first injection and, if necessary, add small amounts of Dysport in order to fix any problem. I suggest that you wait another week and then call your doctor for a follow-up consultation if you are still not satisfied with the results.

This is a quick and easy problem to fix. The injector was cautious around the brows to try and not lower them. However, with minute quantities of Dysport now, this problem can be improved. Treating the forehead is the most difficult area. The injector does what he/she feels is appropriate dosing but small tweaks need to be individualized. It is a learning process to get the right injection for you. In the future, the "right recipe" is now known and it shouldn't happen in the future.

Hello and thanks for your question regarding Dysport. I would recommend contacting the Plastic Surgeon who performed the treatment and get a touch up in the area of concern. Its been my experience that Dysport takes fewer than 5 days to take affect. Since your outside that time period, it is common to need a second treatment (touch up treatment).

I would suggest giving it the full 14 days before evaluating the end result achieved after your Dysport neurotoxin treatment. You will probably still be left with those small creases above the brow, but these should settle nicely if touched up with small amounts of toxin at two weeks (and I would suggest this to ensure a balanced softened appearance of the forehead). Remember it is always easier to touch up with small amounts, rather than weaken the forehead muscles so much that can result in a brow drop which can last for 3 months or more! All the best.
