I had dysport done 10 days ago . The dysport was injected between and above my eyebrows. Around day 5-6 i felt heavey on my left eyelid, and it started drooping. . The arch in my eyebrows reamain the same with a nice lift. I started using iodopine 5% generic. After the first drop my eye looked about 30% better. how long will it take for the ptosis to resolve itself, and I go looking back to normal, and secondly what dosage of the iopidine is recommended? Thank you in advance for your help. Sam
Answer: A Drooping eyelid after Botox, Dysport or Xeomin is not rare Sam, A Drooping eyelid after Botox, Dysport or Xeomin is not an uncommon occurrence. The literature reports this occurs 3-5% of the time and is caused by the neuromodulator, Dysport in this case. Two possible causes of the droop are when the frontalis muscles, which raise the eyebrows, are treated or some of the nerve endings that normally stimulate the levator palpebrae muscle that raises the eyelid. . You are doing the right thing with the iodipine 2 drops three to four times per day for 2-3 weeks. The ptosis usually resolves in 4-6 weeks but can persist longer. In addition to the Iodipine have addition neuromodulator to the orbicularis oculi can sometime help. Good luck to you.

Answer: Droopy eyelid after Dysport? Hi Sam.This is the a common complication of neuromodulators. It sounds like you're being treated correctly. There's not way to predict how long this will last, unfortunately. I suggest you see your injector periodically, but it will go away eventually.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :)

Answer: Eyelid ptosis (droopiness) after Dysport injection Sorry to hear about your Dysport experience. Eyelid ptosis is a fairly rare complication of both Botox and Dysport treatment. Iodopine drops will help but you will need to use 2 drops into each eye 3 times a day. The ptosis will start improving as the some of the Dysport wears off at 4-6 weeks but it may take 3-4 months for the eyelids to return to normal. Hang in there.

Answer: Eyelid Ptosis After Dysport Thank you for your question and for sharing your concerns. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing complications from your Dysport treatment. Based on your description, it sounds like you are be experiencing eyelid ptosis. This is a rare complication that occurs when Dysport injections between the eyebrows drift and affect the muscles that control the upper eyelid. It's most often caused by improper injection placement. Unfortunately, it may take up to 3-4 months for it to fully resolve, but you should start to notice improvement within the next several weeks. I would continue the Iopidine as recommended by your injector. I hope you feel better soon!
