Hello, I´m 20 years old and i have Bulging eyes, Is there any surgery to improve the appearance of the eyes, it is genetic, I wear glasses because I have myopia,my moms has the same condition, Ive heard something about to improve the projection of my cheekbone, what i can do, sorry but English is not my first language, have a nice day.
Answer: Considering surgery It is difficult to advise on surgical procedures from photos alone. It would be best to schedule an in-office consultation with a surgeon who specializes in eye and orbital (eye socket) surgery, like an oculoplastic surgeon. An oculoplastic surgeon will be able to walk you through treatment options and advise on what option may be best to address your specific concerns. Always trust your face to a board-certified surgeon with extensive experience in cosmetic and reconstructive eye surgery. Best of luck!

Answer: Options for bulging eyes and lower eyelid retraction You have the following issues resulting in the way your eyes are: 1) relatively shallow orbit with bulging eyes; 2) deficient lower orbital rim bone; 3) lower eyelid retraction. There solutions for each of these procedures are as follows: 1) orbital decompression; 2) orbital rim implant; 3) lower eyelid retraction surgery. You may benefit from 1, 2, or all 3 procedures for best results. It depends on your goals and risks. See following video for a patient undergoing all procedures. I have also published on role of orbital decompression on patients like yourself and you will find the publication on link below. Of course proper consultation is needed to determine best treatment(s) for you.

Answer: Cosmetic orbital decompressions are major surgeries. They can improve the appearance of your prominent eyes. Only a handful of oculoplastic surgeons offer cosmetic orbital decompressions. Most orbital decompressions are performed for individuals with thyroid eye disease. Understand that the risks associated with orbital decompress are substantial including loss of vision. The risk of visual loss is not well documented in the medical literature but it is relatively high. That means it is a real factor in deciding to go this route. Understand the risks before committing yourself to this approach. Do your homework and know what you are getting into.

Answer: There may be some other options besides decompression Dear Kamikase, I certainly see why you are concerned. Orbital decompression is certainly considered in cases other than thyroid eye disease for patients that have truly buldgy eyes (proptosis) However, you also have significant lower lid retraction, that is we can see the white sclera under the colored part of your eye. This is not normal and can make the eye look even bigger. One consideration would be to have this retraction addressed and repaired, which will make the eye look much smaller and be a far less aggressive approach. Never-the-less I would DEFINITELY recommend you see an oculoplastic and orbital surgeon for an in-person consultation and examination to discuss all the options and what the best approach might be. Good luck.

Answer: Orbital decompression you need to start from ground zero with an opthalmic plastic surgeon. these opthmologists have special and training and expertise in dealing with issues such as you have. standard eyelid surgery is not the answer. the negative vector pulling your lower lids down needs to be addressed. general plastic surgeons are usually not as experienced in dealing with these highly complex eyelid issues. I do not think orbital decompression will be reccommended.
