Are the muscles tight enough to hold by themselves, even if the sutures rip 5 yrs after my tummy tuck? My lower belly (right above the pubic area) seems to be protruding a little. It has always been like that since my tummy tuck, but I feel like it has gotten a little worse these past few weeks. People can't see it, but I do feel it myself. Pictures won't show anything. Could I have a uterine cyst?

Answer: Abdominal evaluation Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. In order to give you accurate advice, an examination of your muscles is necessary. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Answer: Tummy internal sutures Thanks for posting your question. Usually within a few months after surgery the tissue is fully healed and the sutures aren't responsible for holding the muscles together. Many surgeons use dissolving sutures so they aren't even present after several months. If you are having discomfort I would recommend seeing your physician for a proper assessment.
