Ever since I gave birth to my perfect child 6 years ago, I have felt like a stranger in my own body. A mommy makeover is something I have wanted and have been prepping for for a long time. So far my experience with Dr Levin and his staff has generally been positive. I am writing this intital update from the recovery room following surgery. Will update more with details once I can get a peek at Dr Levin's magic. Updated on 3 Dec 2021: I’ve been comfortable (no pain) when sitting still. Pain is mostly associated with getting up/sitting down. I haven’t gotten a full look at my body, so I don’t know yet how my flanks and back lipo looks.I’m very pleased with how my abdomen looks!! It’s so flat! Updated on 11 Dec 2021: The recovery has been harder than I expected. Got 2/3 drains it yesterday. Hopefully only 3 more days with the last drian Updated on 16 Dec 2021: My last drain fell out on day 10, and I saw the doc again on day 12 for a routine re-check. Doc was pleased with everything. At day 8, doc prescribed Santyl ointment to help promote healing on one segment of my wound (see very red area above my pubes). I started using scar gel and Silcone tape on the rest of my incision. My lower abdomen and pubic area are still pretty swollen, as is my lower back where lipo was performed. At this point I do not have any pain, only slight discomfort when sitting up. Updated on 19 Dec 2021: I’m pleased with how my inscision is healing Updated on 18 Feb 2022: Updated on 18 Feb 2022: Updated on 4 Mar 2023: Best decision ever Updated on 4 Mar 2023:
Let me begin by saying Dr.Levins and ALL of his staff are so patient and kind! I felt like family and welcome the whole time. My breast augmentation is next month and I am SO excited. Dr. Levins has a wonderful sense of humor and really put my worried mind at ease.
I found Dr. Levin to be pleasant, professional, and skillful. What I love is that I was able to trust him to do not just what I wanted but what looked nice and natural. His staff, as well as him always made me feel safe and reassured in what they were doing. I am very pleased with the outcome of the work that I had done by Dr. Levine.
From my first consultation through each follow-up visit, the professionalism, kindness, and attention shown to me from Dr. Levin, Barbara, and staff have made me feel more like family than a patient. My husband and I felt comfortable and valued throughout my surgery experience. I couldn’t be happier with the results!
I got what I wanted and expected out of the experience. Where I felt Dr. Levin went above and beyond is when I was to have the breast augmentation initially and my blood pressure was dangerously high. He refused to do the surgery and made me reschedule. To me, it showed that he was truly interested in my safety and wellbeing as well as giving me what I wanted. Ultimately, the surgery was rescheduled and I am happy with the breast augmentation but to me, it was the compassion and professionalism he exhibited first and foremost.
Results were perfect. Exactly what I asked for. Natural looking results, no complications. Symmetry was astounding. Looks as if I had been born this way. I do wish staff had gone over preprocedure information more in depth instead of just handing you a packet of papers.
I had a great experience from to very start! Highly recommend!! Barb was great the doctor was great. They made me feel comfortable and were very informational every step of the way. I am 8 weeks post OP and feel great and happy with my results! Thank you Dr. Levin and staff. You guys are AMAZING!
Let me just start by saying... I hope Dr. Levin NEVER retires. My sister-in-law had a breast augmentation by Dr. Levin and they turned out beautifully! Of course she recommended him to me and anyone looking for a great plastic surgeon. Needless to say, I set up a consultation with Dr. Levin. His staff were warm and friendly and Dr. Levin was great from the start! He explained every detail, didn’t make me feel rushed and was very patient with all my questions. I had my breast augmentation done in 2009 and was ecstatic immediately following surgery. They say word of mouth is the best advertisement... then I’m a walking billboard!
Hello to anyone reading this, in this review I will explain about myself and why this surgery was needed but more importantly the amazing surgeon and his staff that helped me through the whole process! So basically when I was younger (roughly 14/15) I went through a major growth phase especially my breasts. I ended up at a size 34 ddd which led to some major problems later on including... wearing two bras at a time for full coverage and support, dips in my shoulders from the weight of the breasts causing the straps to dig in, constant neck and back pain, clothes not fitting properly etc. I finally couldn't stand it anymore and starting researching local surgeons in my area and thus the process began. I found Lancaster plastic surgery and called to plan a consultation after establishing that they accept my insurance. (this is important to find out because if this is considered medically necessary insurance helps cover etc.) So I scheduled a consultation. The day of the consultation I was shown a video that helped cover all important factors involved with the surgery and was then seen by Dr. Levin who examined my breasts/took photos and did an evaluation to send into the insurance company so they could see all the reasons why the surgery was needed. After insurance cleared the surgery the staff worked with me to get a surgery date. The day of surgery ran smooth and was not near as painful as I expected. Like any surgery you get there and the hospital staff come in and get your iv drip and antibiotics started, check vitals etc. The surgeon comes in and marks your breasts to ensure sizing. After all prepping you get put under anesthesia and the surgeon gets to work. When I woke up I was in more discomfort than pain, there is pain but nothing extreme. When you wake up you are wrapped up with gauze and a surgical bra to hold you in place. this is an out patient procedure so once your awake enough they send you home. Key things to remember day of surgery someone must drive you and take loose pants and a zip up or button up loose fitting shirt. The healing process feels slow the first couple of days, but by the first week you start to get back on your feet. Do not rush your healing process and follow all of your surgeons instructions for everything. Now the people that made this happen... A huge shout out to Dr. Levin and his staff!! <3 Dr. Levin does amazing work with a technique that cuts your pain/healing time down. He listens to all your questions, concerns and explains everything you could need to know. He is friendly and professional and takes pride in his work and it shows. The rest of his staff is the same way they answer all of your questions, email/call in a timely manner. Dr. Levin and his staff are just absolutely amazing and I would recommend him to anyone looking to have this or other procedures done. I am currently 1 month post op and I still cant believe how great I look and more importantly feel! No more back/neck pain from the extra weight that I used to carry. For further details or questions that anyone might have feel free to comment and I will get back to you.
Wonderful surgeon! I am very pleased with the results! I had a neck lift and lower face lift and the results are really nice! Very happy! Results look very naturally and not overdone. It took some time to heal but no complications or problems!
You are being extremely modest. Because indeed, as you are small and slender, you are a better candidate than many women for an abdominoplasty and should have an excellent result. Once your muscle separation is repaired and any muscle laxity taken care as well by your surgeon, your shaping should be very apparent with a definite waist! Excess skin is removed as well. Consider yourself fortunate to be both small and slender!
Lymphatic massage after surgery to the abdomen does help minimize the edema that always occurs int he first few months after surgery. When your surgery if performed the lymphatics are also cut and as you become more active at 3 weeks and durging the first 6 weeks, swelling occurs which is often unanticipated by the patient. WE know that the lymphatic circulation opens up again after 6 weeks! That is why we offer massage at 3 weeks time which allows healing to occur beforehand. Some say 2 weeks but that depends on the individual result and I prefer 3 weeks at this time.
Your question about clearance for your planned abdominoplasty is fairly straightforward. As surgeons, we rely on both your family MD as well as cardiology to provide a work up that supports your safety. We usually also obtain an anesthesia consult to further evaluate the risks as they relate to your anesthesia requirements. Once this is accomplished and clearance has been obtained surgery then proceeds. This does not mean no risk but risk that has been carefully examined with a determination to your benefir. Your surgeon should also tailor your surgery to time under anesthesia if there are any considerations of that type as shorter surgery times, ie 3 hours as an baseline, are always safer in terns of infection and complication although many of our procedures are indeed longer in healthy people who have clearance.
While it is possilbe to perform some breast surgery corrections under local anesthesia, you are describing what appears to be extensive surgical correction of the size and shape of your breast implant pocket. Extensive surgery is best performed with the aid of "machines" and the person, who is an anesthesia specialist as well to use those machines. Limiting yourself to local anestheisia also limits what can be accomplished for your breast because of difficulty controlling pain, anxiety, and the risks of surgery. Don't.
Sub pectoral muscle implant placement requires the creation of a pocket that "fits the implant." When the pocket is too large or the implant is too wide, either from implant displacement from stretching or surgical pocket creation, this is solvable with further surgery as you appear to be aware. Discussion with your surgeon is obviously indicated and this is very solvable!
