Can I have kids after a tummy tuck?

It is recommended to wait until you're done having kids to undergo a tummy tuck procedure. Tummy tuck is a very powerful technique in the right hands, and can have dramatic results if done correctly.  You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety.  Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

Hello,Yes, women can have children after a tummy tuck procedure however if you have the option to plan, a tummy tuck procedure after you are finished having children will ensure long term results and reduce the chances of having to redo the procedure.All the best 

Thank you for your question. Yes it is possible to have kids after a Tummy Tuck. The ideal would be waiting until you are done having children. Your other option is having the procedure done and waiting at least two years before getting pregnant.

 timj3  Hi There , Thank you for your Question The Answer its yes ,  there is not problem with it , but if you like to do a Tummy Tuck and spend thousands of dollars you might want to wait ,until you finish having children , o decide not to have them any more, if it is the case that you get pregnant , there should be no issues .

A tummy tuck operation does not prevent or impact the ability to have children. However, many women prefer to wait until they are done with planned childbearing to optimize the result for the longterm. If you do have a tummy tuck and later get pregnant, you may develop stretch marks or loose skin and muscle laxity that were not present when you had your operation, and this could necessitate a second surgery. However, there certainly are patients who have tummy tucks before having kids or between kids or get pregnant unexpectedly later on. If the tummy tuck result gets compromised by loose skin or stretch marks, or weakening of the muscle fascia, a revision procedure could be done later.

Your plication will be stretched out and you will likely have some excess skin after your pregnancy, thus losing the benefit of having surgery in the first place.
