Can I have a BBL if I have Lichen Planus ?

I had a bbl about 9 years ago and would like to have the surgery again due to some asymmetry, but have been recently diagnosed with Lichen Planus, will this be a concern?

Hello @Fabulous484285, thank you for your question.  Prior to beginning surgical treatment, you must consult your primary care provider. While many illnesses may not exclude surgery, an individual appointment for evaluation and a medical exam are necessary to determine whether the procedure can be carried out. Best wishes! every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

Lichen Planus is not an absolute contraindication for elective cosmetic surgery. Each provider will have to make the wrong decision. They may want clearance from a dermatologist or rheumatologist.
I suggest talking to your provider to see if they think you’re a good candidate for a revision in the first place. Alternatively, start having in person consultations you can review the history and see what each provider has to say. Different providers will have different opinions.
