Trouble breathing 6 months post op - should I be concerned?

Hi! from month 2-6 post op i have had trouble breathing. Mainly out of the right side of my nose only. This also tends to be only when my nose swells up the most, like throughout the night /etc.. I used Afrin spray once and it completely cleared it. It appears my turbinates get very large very fast and block my airways since surgery, but then sometimes they go down. Is this a normal part of the healing process ?

If Afrin nasal spray is helping you breathe better, you nearly certainly do have a turbinate problem. If you had your nose made smaller with your rhinoplasty, sometimes the turbinates play a larger role in causing nasal Airway obstruction. Hello! Greetings from Istanbul. Thank you for your question.After rhinoplasty surgery it is normal to have some breathing issue during the healing process. Usually it should go away within a few weeks (or months) depending on the patient. I recommend you to go check with an ENT doctor, there might be cartilage mooving.

Turbinate swelling is not a part of rhinoplasty unless you had septoturbinoplasty together with rhinoplasty. Even though you had turbinate surgery, at 6 months postop, the turbinate healing is almost stopped. So it is better to get an opinion from nearby otolaryngologist regarding your breathing problem. Thanks.
