I work in sound design for film and I need to have revision rhinoplasty. The two surgeons I met said both ears need to be harvest for conchal cartlidge and possible other areas of the ear. They say this won’t affect appearance, but what about hearing? It’s there for a reason right? To bounce sound off of? Will it make my ear feel softer and more flimsy? There isn’t a ton of info on this exact saying the structure remains intact. Would appreciate advice on this. Thank you.

You should discuss your concerns with your surgeon. The diagnosis of nasal valve collapse would require an examination. There are many reasons to be stuffy right now. It is not possible to evaluate your condition without an examination. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
Based on your photos, you appear to have a higher nostril margin on your left. Depending on your condition, microdroplet Silikon-1000 nasal injections may be considered for nostril lowering and improved symmetry. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
