Timeline for attending an amusement park (roller coasters, spinning G-force rides, etc.) after rhinoplasty?

Hello,During the first 6 weeks, you can resume all normal functional activities such as work, socializing and light physical activity. Here's a recommended timeline:
Wait six weeks on roller coasters and waterslides because it's not unusual to bump the nose and you need to wait that long for the tissues to become solidified. It should be OK to go swimming after two weeks as long as there's no physical contact as in water polo.

Post-operative instructions will vary depending on your surgeon and type of rhinoplasty you had. I prefer my patients to refrain from any strenuous or high motion or water pressure for at least 4 weeks. The biggest concern for your activities such as swimming or water slides is to avoid any trauma to your nose which can also be caused by headgear such as googles or snorkels. In our practice, patient's do not have any activity restrictions 3 weeks post-rhinoplasty procedure.  It is also important that you do not get  hit in the nose the first 6 weeks.

This is a question that should best be answered by your rhinoplasty surgeon.  I'm less concerned about the G forces after 3-4 weeks than I am about the risk of you getting struck in the nose.  Be pragmatic and use your judgment to avoid getting hit in the face after you've had a rhinoplasty procedure.  Again, discuss this with your own surgeon since he/she will be familiar with the details of your procedure.  Best wishes,Jon A Perlman MD FACS
