Thank you for your question. Allergic rhinitis does not prevent you from obtaining a rhinoplasty. In fact, you maybe able to combine a medical procedure (septoplasty/turbinate reduction) with the rhinoplasty to help with your allergy symptoms. This should allow you to breath better even in the worst allergy season. Good luck!!!!
The short answer to your question is no, allergic rhinitis is not a contraindication to rhinoplasty. You should be aware, though, that your symptoms of allergic rhinitis (runny nose, postnasal drip, etc.) may transiently worsen although the nasal obstruction, if you have any, should be improved if the rhinoplasty addresses the functional aspect of your nose as well. You should discuss this with your surgeon including when it is safe to resume your medications for allergic rhinitis. Best wishes!
It is acceptable to undergo a rhinoplasty procedure with allergic rhinitis. There will be significant congestion after the rhinoplasty procedure, so it will be very difficult to treat that with steroid nasal sprays. Antihistamine pills such as Claritin can offer a alternative therapy. These are available over-the-counter. Choose your rhinoplasty surgeon wisely based on extensive experience producing natural results
Great question. Generally speaking corrective nasal surgery vastly improves symptoms for patient with allergic rhinitis, in the long run. I stress long run because many people have a short term worsening of symptoms right after surgery, usually because you are getting much more allergen into the nasal airway. Over time the symptoms equilibrate and are often less noticeable many weeks to months post surgery. I would caution you however that these results are in situations where the patient has discernible nasal obstruction. I hope this helps.
Allergic rhinitis is common. There is no problem doing a rhinoplasty in someone with this condition. Key point is the allergic issue will persist postop. If you have an mechanical obstruction to your nose such as a septal deviation this may be able to be improved with your surgery.
If you had the nose reset there will be some swelling concentrated over the bridge is your nasal tip was not affected by the surgery. It will take several months to know for sure whether this settles completely or not. In some instances, the effect of the surgery is a reduction in projection of...

Thank you for your pictures and your question. When a patient doesn't like their results after any surgery there is often several reasons. The first and possibly the most important reason is that they haven't yet adjusted to the new look and this will take time. The second reason is that the r...
Hello,Thank you for your question. During the first 6 weeks, you can resume all normal functional activities such as work, socializing and light physical activity. Heavy physical activity (running, jogging, heavy weight lifting, downward face poses for yoga/pilates) are restricted until after...
It is possible your tip will continue to shrink wrap down as healing continues. In fact, this can take upwards of 1-2 years after rhinoplasty. Ultimately, all of this depends on what was done to reshape your tip during the surgery. Best of luck with that.
We have met several patients over the years who have had very nice postoperative rhinoplasty results but had severe insecurity about their nasal and facial appearances. The fact that you are feeling better is a very good sign. In all likelihood, based on your photos, your nose will feel li...
