I lost 90 lbs and i got pregnant and gained 30lb. It seems impossible to me loose these 30lb after pregnancy. It is very very frustrating no matter what I can't loose these bounds. I am seriously thinking to do liposuction for these 30lb. How many sessions i need for these 30lbs? What would be the cost for these sessions? Am I going to look normal when it comes to fat distribution after the liposuction like if I lost the wieight with dieting? Thank you very much

Answer: Liposuction candidate Dear sxq2221,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, liposuction is used tore move the extra fat and not to lose weight. You can only remove 5000cc of fat in one session. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery

Answer: Can I lose significant weight with #liposuction? Liposuction is NOT a weight loss operation and should never be offered to the patient under that premise. While fat that is suctioned obviously has mass, the degree of weight removal that occurs even after a safe HIGH volume liposuction is rarely more than 5-7 lbs, and usually less. Some of your weight is likely being carried in your omentum/visceral fat, the fat that is inside the abdominal cavity near your organs. This fat is NOT accessible to liposuction. It is probably best that you consult with a physician who is an expert in medically supervised weight management to help you lose and maintain weight in a safe manner. Then when you have plateaued your weight at a safe range, you can consider lipo or a tummy tuck for appropriate body shaping.
