Rubbed face about 4 hours after Botox, now my eye is a little swollen. Did I ruin it?

Hi and thanks for your question. You did not ruin your Botox. Don't worry. You will begin seeing results within a day or two after treatment and the peak effect will be at around 10 to 14 days. If you have concerns then, you can contact your injector, but I wouldn't do much before 2 weeks. Enjoy!

congratulations on your recent Botox session. Although vigorous rubbing of the
area treated with Botox is not recommended, it is difficult for this
manipulation to cause the product to migrate. You did not ruin your results, as
there is little to no chance that your eye is swollen from the light rubbing.
Relax and enjoy the benefits of your Botox injections as they begin to appear
over the next week or two.

Depending on where the Botox was injected, there is a chance the Botox can migrate and diffuse into other areas. The chance is low, but I want to give you a realistic answer based on years of experience. The results have a maximal effect after a couple of weeks. If you get an eyelid droop, it can usually be treated with some eye drops. Good luck.

While it’s best to try to avoid rubbing the treated area within the first 24 hours after getting BOTOX®, accidently rubbing your eyes four hours after your appointment shouldn’t affect your results. Remember that it can take a week or so to see your full results, so don’t get too hung up on what they look like just yet. If you still have concerns around 7 to 10 days after your appointment, check in with your provider. Hope this helps.

Rubbing the eyes 4 hrs after Botox  injection should not cause any problems. I advised  patients not to massage the areas treated with Botox immediately after treatment to prevent migration of the product to the wrong muscles. The forehead line muscles( lateral corrugator muscles) when injected with Botox (if too close to the upper eyes lids) can diffuse to the levator palpebrae superioris muscle ( elevates the upper lids) causing unwanted drooping of one eyelid.

You did not cause any problem by rubbing your eye 4 hours after Botox and give it time so that the result will be fully manifested in 10-14  days
