I am considering a cosmetic rhinoplasty. My nasal septum is slighty deviated with no symptoms. I would like to undergo a rhinoplasty without any septum correction. Is it possible ?

Answer: Rhinoplasty without septal work Sometimes, a deviated septum causes a portion of the nose to appear slightly twisted, depending on the severity. The first question would be, what is your fear of having your septum straightened? I would recommend consulting with a Board-Certified plastic surgeon who will accurately assess your nose and offer you options. A simulation should be created which show you what your nose could look like after surgery, and they will determine whether septal work would be recommended. Good luck!

Answer: Rhinoplasty and Septoplaty Hello,Rhinoplasty is a surgery that can correct both functional and cosmetic issues associated with the nose. The septum is integral to both of these issues. If you are having a cosmetic rhinoplasty and your septum is deviated, it may have a cosmetic impact on the appearance of the bridge and may make your nose look crooked after surgery. If your surgeon is concerned with this potential problem you should heed her warning that a septoplasty is necessary.Best of luck!
