Surgery to improve face and side profile? (Photo)

Question

I am trying to improve some features of my face. I'm thinking I may need rhinoplasty For a narrow nose and I have irregular nostrils. Also have a really round face. I mainly hate my side profile. Anything I can do to improve?

The rhinoplasty procedure can address narrowing and refining the nose. The tip can be narrowed with a tip plasty, while the bridge can be narrowed with osteotomies. A chin implant is inserted for patients who have a weak and recessive chin profile to give better facial balance and proportions. Placement of a chin implant will help with the side profile significantly. A combination of rhinoplasty, chin augmentation, and neck liposuction would work well together to create  a beautiful profile. On the profile view, there is recession of your chin. Nasal
cosmetic surgery and a chin implant are frequently performed together in the
appropriate patient. The ideal aesthetic result should be individualized to
achieve harmony with your other facial features and improve the areas that
concern you. Whether a chin implant or a more extensive jaw surgery would be
optimal depends on multiple factors including your desired outcome and personal
anatomy.

Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website
who proposes to tell you what to do based on two dimensional photos without
examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome,
taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative
procedure would not be in your best interest. Natural appearing results need to
be individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarily
the best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon with
extensive rhinoplasty experience certified by the American Board of Plastic
Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic
Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or a facial plastic surgeon (otolaryngologist) that you
trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon
in person. The extent and length of the procedure, cost, and the specific
operative steps to achieve an ideal cosmetic result vary from patient to
patient and would depend on the findings at your consultation examination.

Refining the tip can certainly be done but seriously consider chin augmentation and neck and jowl liposuction which will have an equal if not greater effect on improving your appearance.

A rhinoplasty to reduce and refine your nose would give you a smaller, more petite nose.  You do have a weak chin.  If you place your finger from your lips straight down, your chin should almost touch your finger.  Yours is behind.  This makes the profile view appear less balanced.  Having a chin implant will project the chin forward to better balance the lower half of your face.

Dear Bre801288, You would be an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty and chin augmentation. Rhinoplasty would allow you to thin the tip of your nose as well as some other refinements and chin augmentation would help balance your profile to your features. During consultation digital imaging can be done to show you the proposed changes. Once you see the proposed changes and agree with the desired result then the surgeon will be able to discuss in length with you what needs to be done to attain that desired result. On side profile, its your receding chin that is not attractive. Correcting this with a chin implant will help a lot.Your nose on profile is quite good.On front view the tip is a bit bulbous, but not terrible. Unfortunately correcting the bublosity will require septal cartilage tip grafts to maintain the nice tip projection that you currently have. This grafting is technically not easy.You may just want to go with the chin implant since its the profile that you hate.
