Dear gurrolaAt first glance it appears that you have had a nasal fracture likely from blunt trauma. You should first discuss your concerns with your parents and then perhaps together see a board certified plastic surgeon (or facial) to have your nose assessed and your questions answered.
The photograph demonstrates a crooked nose, most likely the result of previous trauma. A hump is present and asymmetrical. A rhinoplasty procedure can address shaving down the dorsal hump which is composed of both bone and cartilage. Osteotomies of the nasal bones are required to set the nasal bridge line straight. A cast will then be applied across the bridge of the nose for one week, and expect 2 weeks of visible bruising and swelling for recovery. You will also need parental consent up until age 18. For many examples of crooked nose repair in our practice, please see the link and video below
Hello Gurrola805,The pictures clearly show you have a nose that is deviated to the left. It looks like you may have taken a blow from the right side of your nose at some point. The best option would be to be evaluated by a facial plastic surgeon or a plastic surgeon that focuses on facial surgery. The important questions will be in regard to previous trauma and difficult breathing. If your appearance bothers you there are definitely ways to help correct it. If you have difficulty breathing that can all be addressed at the same time. I hope this helps and good luck.
Your nose is indeed shifted to the left. Did you injure your nose in the past? Do you have any breathing problems? These are some of the pertinent questions that must be addressed when considering surgery for your nose. Please look for a board certified Plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon in your area so that you can be properly evaluated and treated. Good luck.
Hi and thanks for your question. It's difficult to give you any advice from this single close photo but it does appear that your nose is deviated. I would suggest you see a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced in rhinoplasty to address your concerns. Best of luck!
There are many reasons for nasal asymmetry (crooked nose). The addition of symptoms such as pain and discomfort is unusual and should be evaluated by a doctor to make sure other issues are not present. You may want to start by seeing and ENT or Plastic Surgeon for consultation. All the best,Dr. Remus Repta
You can either have a crooked nose from birth or after trauma. Regardless of the cause, your nose can be corrected with an open rhinoplasty.
You may have broken your nose in the past. It appears that you nasal bones have been moved- especially the nasal bone on the left.
The nasal bones are wide and not straight. This may have been the result of an untreated injury in the past. The only treatment to correct this is a rhinoplasty to reposition the nasal bones.
As the nasal bones themselves are crooked, it appear to have been an untreated injury. Small children have small bones and when fractured, it may not be apparent until they and the bones grow larger.A rhinoplasty is needed to correct the nose.
Most surgeons will not "pack" the nose after surgery, as it is decidedly uncomfortable and not needed. "Splints" are commonly used when there have been incisions placed internally that could undesirably heal together and cause webbing or scarring. In my practice, I commonly use soft internal...
Thank you for you question. Taking antibiotics should have no effect on your results. With that said, if you experiencing a side effect of the antibiotic, contact the prescribing MD.
It would depend on the level of supervision in the clinic. Rhinoplasty is perhaps the most challenging operation in cosmetic surgery. It is hard to achieve naturally beautiful results that stand the test of time. The surgeons training and years of experience are important variables in the...
