I got liposuction 2 months ago on my back and stomach. About 1,5 l of fat was removed. I m 5 ft tall....but there is no result. I look pretty much exactly the same. I don't want to be a complaining patient to my surgeon, but should I be concerned? Is this just swelling that will go away? I m not tender or sore or anything.
Answer: No results at two months The most simple answer to your question is that your lack of results are either because you were not a good candidate for liposuction, your procedure was not done well or a combination of both. At two months your results should be very close to final. Do not expect any significant improvements from here on. Expertise in the field of liposuction allows an expert body contouring specialist to not only master the techniques of liposuction but also to master the ability to predict who will get a good result, who will not and how to differentiate and explain this accurately to each and every patients before the procedure. Be strong, Confront your plastic surgeon and express your disappointment. Ask him or her why the results are not more impressive. Ask if you were or were not a good candidate for procedure and why this was or was not explained before the procedure. If not enough it was removed then consider asking for a revision. You could consider getting a second opinion from another board-certified plastic surgeon before confronting your plastic surgeon about your discontent. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
