Thank you for your question and photos. A jawline may be slimmed with botox injections if the jawline is not due anatomically to the angle of your jawbone. The botox will clearly shrink the masseter muscle and slim the face. I recommend a qualified injector who is comfortable with masseter reductions. There is no downtime with botox injections.  The price will be quoted once your provider has established how many units you will require.  Typically the masseters may require a couple of treatments to produce the desired effect. The injections will need to be maintained, usually lasting 3-4 months, although some do still have noticeable reduction of the muscle for up to 6 months.

Honestly, I am not a big fan of jaw Botox. It takes 30-60 units of Botox to temporarily weaken the masseter muscle and the cosmetic results may be unnoticeable. I prefer to widen the appearance of the cheekbones with fillers or slim the angles of the mandible with surgery. Good luck

The results may show as soon as in 2 weeks. but some patients may need to wait until a second injection 3 months later to see a bigger difference. The results last from 3 to 6 months. After the injections there may be some swelling and bruising, but in most of the patients is minimal and it goes away in few days.

The use of of Botox to slim enlarged masseter muscles is certainly nothing new. I have been using it for many years, particularly in Asian women for which this is a relatively more common problem, for not only slimming the face, as in your case, but for helping to reduce bruxism and related TMJ discomfort. This is a very advanced injection technique, so it is usually not in the purview of inexperienced, novice injectors accustomed to treating simple eleven lines with Botox (or Dysport or Xeomin). The effects generally last between four to six months. As to fees, they may vary from how much Botox is actually individually needed to get the job done and locale of the injector. Dear anon705991,Botox is generally an on off switch for muscle activity. Most of patients see first changes after 4-7 days and the final results after 10-14 days. There should be no severe swelling or bruising after Botox injections. In most cases it lasts for 3-4 months. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Botox or Dysport to the masseter muscles is a great treatment for anyone who is looking to improve their facial shape, slim their face, define their jawline, or accentuate their cheekbones! 
The effects of Botox will begin around day 3-5 as you notice the muscles weaken, and take full effect by 2 weeks. However, the slimming effect can take up to 30 days to notice as the muscle needs time to decrease in size. Results typically last 6 months. Price range varies based on location as well as the number of units needed for your customized treatment. As with any injection there is always a risk of bruising, to cut down on this risk we recommend avoiding over the counter blood thinning medications or supplements leading up to your treatment. Swelling is typically not seen as the injections are deep.

Botox injections to the masseter muscles typically require a higher dose and the injections have to be placed deeper into the muscle. The exact amount of Botox that needs to be injected depends on the strength and size of the muscle. This treatment is effective in slimming down the face as well as helping with teeth grinding/clenching. The effect of the Botox typically takes about a week to set in and lasts anywhere from 3-6 months depending on the person. As with any Botox injection, there is risk of bruising which can be minimized by avoiding blood thinners and applying ice to the area. Since the injections are placed deeper, the fluid from the botox injections is typically not visible and swelling is minimal.

Unlike regular wrinkle injections, the effect of injections in the masseters takes about 4-6 weeks before you see the difference and typically last between 4-6months before needing another treatment. 
Depending on how strong your muscle movement is the average person needs 25-30 units ($9.90/unit) in each side. With wrinkle injections bruising and swelling is less likely to occur compared to the after effects of dermal filler.

Large masseter muscles can cause the lower face to look square or angular.  Botox or Dysport is effective at slimming down the masseter muscles but you may not see the effect right away.  Depending on how large the muscles are, you may need a second treatment 3 to 4 months later to fully see the slimming effect. In general, there is no downtime. It is infrequent to get a bruise or swelling. Be sure to avoid blood thinners and alcohol in the days before and after your treatment.
