Background: I received botched under eye fillers from a highly reviewed MD back in 2016 that still haven't dissolved completely. I went to her to get an expert opinion as I lost all trust in providers who are not specialized in Oculoplastics. Dr. Liu had excellent bedside manners and did not try to upsell me at all. In fact, she dissuaded me from getting more fillers or getting surgery because it would actually not work with my facial anatomy. I told her I wanted to remove the remaining filler anyway and she said she can do it but it might not make much of a difference. I decided to proceed w/ the treatment anyway since it has been bothering me for so long and I did notice a difference. I don't feel the lumpiness under my eyes anymore. Highly highly recommend her and going to her for a consultation before you get any under eye work done, even if it's just fillers.
Let’s start with the staff of Dr. Liu who are 5 stars! They understand the billing process and insurance claims completely. This is key to success! Their office is run efficiently and on time. Also key! Dr. Liu herself is one in a million – a technically proficient surgeon and specialist, and a caring human that spends the right amount of time with you to offer the diagnosis and care needed to fix your problem and send you on your way with better eyesight or better skin – both in my case! Somehow both specialties work together in this office!
In Dec, I had an upper Blepharoplasty (upper eye lid lift) by Dr. Liu and the outcome has far exceeded every expectation. Five weeks post-surgery and my eyes look incredible! Not to mention, my vision has improved. Truly, I could not be more pleased. Bruising was barely visible one week post-surgery. My only regret is that I waited so long to do it. Patient experience is everything. If I could give Dr. Liu, Jennifer and staff 10 stars for my excellent experience and outcome I would! I highly recommend Dr. Liu.
When I went in for a consultation I really had no expectations other than if it helps my eyes look a little better I would be happy Dr. Liu FAR EXCEEDED my expectations – there’s a posting of my before and 1 month after surgery – looks good – but you should see my eyes after 4 months – my wife and kids said I look 10 years younger – I didn’t tell my friends about the surgery but I received comments from them saying “You look really good – how many pounds have you lostIf you are contemplating rejuvenating your eyes it’s a simple decision – call Dr. Wenjing Lie – she is a sweetheart and really cares about you and the procedure – I going to see her again so she can post a picture of my eyes after 4 months Regards, Todd
This was a great experience for me! I had to have a procedure to remove a chalazion from my eyelid. Dr. Liu took great care of me throughout the entirety of the process. I’ve never had any need to have my eyes addressed in the past, but feel confident that if anything else comes up that I will go back to her office! She was informative, efficient, and kind. She helped return my eye back to normal. Thank you!
Dr. Wenjing Liu and the staff were very professional and did a fabulous job! Dr. Wenjing Liu was able to assess my issues and inform me step by step of the procedure that had to be done. I was diagnosed with bilateral epiblepharon. Pre and post-surgery both the doctor and Jennifer (the office manager) were there to check up on me. I truly had a great experience and would recommend anyone to go here for any eye concerns. They are truly the best in the area!
Dr. Liu and her staff are amazing! I had lower bilaterial epiblepharon surgery due to eyelashes that were rubbing against my cornea. The experience with Dr. Liu was seamless - you can trust that you're in the hands of an expert. During the consultation, Dr. Liu took the time to thoughtfully answer my questions, address my concerns, and explain everything I needed to know about the procedure. The surgery went smoothly, and now my eyelashes no longer irritate my eye. You feel truly cared for as a patient. Dr. Liu & her staff will follow up with you on the day of surgery, and the day after to see how you're doing. Special shoutout to her warm and kind staff, Jennifer Wieters, who will go above and beyond to make sure your experience on the logistical side is taken care of.
I had a great experience with Dr. Liu and her staff. The treatment that I received was surgical correction of mild ptosis, affecting my right eye. I would recommend her to anyone seeking eyelid surgery, whether it's cosmetic or medical. In my case, it was the former.
I saw Dr. Liu recently for upper eyelid filler. I had been noticing sagging in one eye lid (upper) and a hollow look in the other eye-lid. Dr. Liu injected restalyne filler into both my upper eyelids and into the upper brow region. The procedure was relatively quick and it was painless. I was amazed at the difference--which can be appreciated immediately. My eyelids have returned to what they were 15 years ago! The result is smooth and plump and very firm. Eyeshadow/eye make up now glides on easily without the crepey/loose skin look. Both eyes now are completely symmetrical. I found Dr. Liu to be extremely meticulous. She takes multiple before and after pictures and ensures that your facial position is the same (no false lighting or position changes to enhance the "after" result) . She also involves you in the decision making and feedback process. I found her to be honest, ethical and a very kind person in addition to an extremely skilled practitioner.
I am in my late 20s/early 30s and have become more interested in getting Botox to reduce my fine lines and wrinkles. After doing my research for doctors around the area, I felt that Dr. Liu was the most qualified with her extensive experience and high praise from the industry. I called the office to schedule a consultation and Lauren was very polite, professional and accommodating. I was able to get in to see Dr. Liu within a few days! The office is bright, clean and very spacious. Dr. Liu has incredibly professional bedside manner, took the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions thoroughly, gave her honest opinion and I never felt pressured or rushed during my consultation. I am so glad that I found Dr. Liu and 100% trust her with any future facial procedures I may have. I would highly recommend her to my family and friends and look forward to visiting her again soon!
Dear leaibrahim, From the photograph, it looks like that your eye bags are mostly a result of hollowing rather than excess fat. You would likely benefit from non-surgical treatments such as hyaluronic acid fillers to add volume in the area of the hollowing. I would recommend that you have a consultation with an oculoplastic surgeon who is familiar with the anatomy and injecting fillers in this delicate area. Best, Dr. Liu
Dear dermaqueen, Botox injected into the frontalis muscle to treat forehead lines can cause the eyebrows to droop. You can see the maximal effect of the Botox typically at around 2 weeks after the injections and then the effect fades over time. I would recommend waiting until around the 2 week mark to see what the result is from the injections. Sometimes, the eyebrow can be raised slightly by injecting the orbicularis muscle by the lateral brow or the corrugator muscle by the glabella. If your biggest concern is the asymmetry between the two brows, the left brow can be lowered slightly with injections to the frontalis forehead muscle to match the right brow more closely as well. Dear anon705991, Botox injections to the masseter muscles typically require a higher dose and the injections have to be placed deeper into the muscle. The exact amount of Botox that needs to be injected depends on the strength and size of the muscle. This treatment is effective in slimming down the face as well as helping with teeth grinding/clenching. The effect of the Botox typically takes about a week to set in and lasts anywhere from 3-6 months depending on the person. As with any Botox injection, there is risk of bruising which can be minimized by avoiding blood thinners and applying ice to the area. Since the injections are placed deeper, the fluid from the botox injections is typically not visible and swelling is minimal. Best, Dr. Liu
Dear lovemelovexx, It is hard to tell from the photo the amount of upper eyelid ptosis since the head is tilted and you are probably raising your eyebrows to try and pull up on your eyelids. In order to have ptosis surgery covered by insurance, the eyelids must be low enough to affect your vision which affects your daily activities. A standardized photograph and a visual field test would also need to be performed. Botox would not be covered by insurance and would only raise the eyelids a little if any. The Botox injections would also have to be repeated around every 3 months or so. I would recommend that you have a consultation with an oculoplastic surgeon who specializes in the eyelids to come up with the best plan for you. Best, Dr. Liu
Dear Shapi, It sounds like you would like your upper eyelid crease to be a bit higher. In my opinion, it is usually best to be conservative and to not raise the upper eyelid crease too high and to not take off too much upper eyelid skin since it is easier to make the crease higher or to remove more skin than to put it back or lower the crease after the surgery is done. During your consultation with an oculoplastic surgeon, the surgeon can show you what different eyelid crease heights would look like on your eyelids so you can visualize what the result after surgery will look like. Best, Dr. Liu
