Is Flowers mandibular glove chin implant recommended for males?

Thank you for the question. Choice of chin implant shape and size can be complicated. It is best to decide with your surgeon before the procedure. This decision is made based on your jaw and chin shape, overall size of your bone structure, and the desired aesthetic enhancement. There is not a specific right or wrong implant for men or women -- just different shapes for different faces.

with the rest of the face. Therefore, it is important to
discuss your goals and be examined by a board certified surgeon who can
better assist you with the size of implant  and the type necessary as it related with
the rest of your facial structure. The different implants are not chosen simply by shape desired.  They must be matched with the soft tissue of your chin and underlying bone structure to obtain the projection where it is necessary.  This is more important when discussing the type.  In addition, many surgeons carve the implant during surgery to manipulate the implant to the desired result.  You also have an option of a customized chin implant that is designed over a CT scan and fits exactly to the underlying bone and you can design the projection exactly your liking.

I have used the Flowers mandibular glove chin implant for many years on both men & women with excellent acceptance. It is my implant of choice for both genders.

 Chin implants are composed of Silastic and are manufactured in a very large variety of sizes and shapes. Since the chin implant and the mandible are three-dimensional structures, an in person consultation and examination is required to determine the size and shape of the implant to be used.  Hi, I have performed many chin augmentations using chin implants on males and females for over 30 years.  I prefer using an EAC silastic chin implant as it has the proper shape and dimensions IMHO.  The size, shape and thickness can vary a great deal based upon your surgeons aesthetic judgement, so be certain he/she understands and follows the proper facial aesthetics for the creation of a ruggedly handsome, male face.  Hope this helps.
