I have had liposuction on my abdomen done 4 months ago. I notice a ridge/valley right above my belly button running side to side. I don't like it. Above the ridge are small bulging areas (about 2-3 inch wide) which create uneven surface. There could be small amount of fat underneath (feels soft to pinch). Only surface texture that area can meaningfully have is when you have six pack. Is there a way to smooth everything out and make everything natural (uniform and symmetric)?
Answer: Four months is too early to consider a revision liposuction. The contour irregularities are modest in not unreasonable for months after liposuction. There's a good chance this will smooth out with time. Laser assisted liposuction will create contour abnormalities that will take much longer to flatten out.

Answer: Post Liposuction Irregularities, Swelling -- Try Massage, Velashape or Venus Legacy With Your Compression It is very common to have bruising and swelling for weeks to months after liposuction procedures. What is most important is that you follow your surgeons post operative instructions and continue compression. If you are concerned, lymphatic massage and Velashape or Venus Legacy treatments can be used to improve the swelling and help the skin tighten. My patients start treatments right away and it improves the long term results. Speak to your physician if you are concerned. Sometimes a revision procedure is needed but I wouldn't consider that for 12 months after surgery. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Secondary liposuction Its too early to have a proper answer, but if this continues you may need revision. there is hope, you just need to find someone with experience in liposuction.I, like a few other colleagues offer online consultations where you send us your photos and we can estimate the cost. Find a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and discuss what will be the proper treatment to achieve the result you desires. Regards, Dr. Luis Redondo

Answer: Revision liposuction Poorly done liposuction or uneven results from liposuction can be difficult to correct and, at times, impossible. Results are typically final or close to final around three months after liposuction. There may be minor changes for the next few months, but do not expect any significant changes from here on out.The hardest defects to correct are with patients who have been unevenly and over-liposuctionedIf there is still a substantial amount of fat and it was simply removed unevenly, then revision liposuction may be able to help.I suggest finding someone who is highly experienced with this type of work.I can give you a name in Southern California if you would like.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.

Answer: Liposuction ridges First, it is hard to really determine what is going on without an examination. The supraumbilical area can be prone to prolonged swelling because of the crease that can form there when we sit. Although after four months it is unlikely that significant changes will occur, you may still be able to influence it somewhat. I recommend massage, ultrasound, vibrational massage, venus freeze and continued direct compression with a custom cut abdominal binder. Any or all can be utilized. I like ultrasound as the first option along with a compression binder over that spot during the day or night. Those modalities can help if the deformity is swelling related. If it is retained fat, a touch up lipo procedure can be entertained in a few more months.
