Could fillers still be in cheeks nearly 3 years later causing a “shelf”? (photos)

Can Voluma XC still be on upper cheeks & causing a line when I smile. In the tear trough I got Restylane. When I smile it looks different than before the filler now it looks like a shelf, line is pronounced and crisp. It made me look better with a neutral face. When I feel the area it feels like product is there. I’m wondering if that is still possible, initially I went back & to address the line he added more but it didn’t help. Could Botox lessen the appearance?

Hi there! I’m Lauren, the aesthetic injector here at Colorado Plastic Surgery Center. Filler can take up to two weeks to fully settle. If you're still noticing unevenness after that time, I’d recommend following up with your provider for a consultation so they can take a look.

Yes, you have swelling, which can last 1-2 weeks after filler injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr.

This is difficult to answer without pictures. I suggest following up with your injector. This isn't typical, but additional filler or a different type may be needed to get the results you want. Hope this helps.
