Can I get rhinoplasty before maxillofacial?

Every case is different when it comes to a situation such as yours.  I would recommend you run this by your oral surgeon as well.  I tend to agree with your plastic surgeon and that it would be okay to proceed with the rhinoplasty.  Good luck!

My recommendation would be to wait after the maxillofacial surgery to have the rhinoplasty done as the proportion of your nose, chin, and jaw will be different. I would recommend that you have your rhinoplasty surgery after your maxillofacial surgery.  The final result will be more precise.

thank you for your question. You should trust your plastic surgeon but if you have doubts you can always get a second opinion. Generally speaking, a rhinoplasty should fully heal in that period of time so it shouldn't make any problem.

Based on your history, I think it's advisable to wait until your maxillofacial surgery is complete and healed, before considering rhinoplasty. Your jaw/chin/nose relationships will change with such surgery and may impact the decision you make regarding which rhinoplasty techniques you are seeking. 

If you're having maxillofacial surgery on the upper jaw, is probably best to do that first, and then undergo the rhinoplasty procedure. It is acceptable to undergo a rhinoplasty first if you're only going to undergo maxillofacial surgery on the lower jaw. Rhinoplasty is a difficult endeavor, so choose your surgeon wisely based on extensive experience.

It should be fine to get you rhinoplasty prior to your maxillofacial surgery, as long as you take into consideration of maxillary changes so that you can gauge the ideal nose for you. This is with respect to tip position, shape, and angulation.

Dear anonymous967, Depending on the extent of the maxillofacial surgery whether the upper and lower jaw, or both, are being addressed would be discussed. If you were my patient I personally would contact your maxillofacial surgeon and discuss your planned surgery. Performing rhinoplasty in itself prior to the maxillofacial surgery is not necessarily a problem however rhinoplasty surgery is designed to provide a good balance to the profile and overall facial aesthetic so this should be kept in mind.
