Rhinoplasty can be performed with either conscious sedation or General anesthesia. Before your surgery you will be given medications to help relax you and prevent anxiety. It might be best in your case to request General anesthesia so that you wont be aware of the surgery.
Smoking cigarettes before or after your surgery can delay healing and increase risk of complications. I recommend you continue to avoid smoking until you are completely healed. You should contact your surgeon to discuss when you may resume.
