It is possible to operate on one eyelid, but true symmetry can be better achieved with bilateral repair to remove the skin from the upper eyelids.

You have an increased tarsal platform show on the left upper lid (distance between the lashes and eyelid crease). This is often secondary to ptosis or drooping of the upper lid. This can be improved with surgery to raise the eyelid. If you don’t have ptosis, the hollowness of one eyelid can be improved with filler. You need an in person consultation to discuss your options.

Thank-you for your query. It is difficult to assess your problem based on your pictures, but you may have a minor degree of ptosis (drooping) of your eyelid. A unilateral eyelid surgery can certainly be done for ptosis or fat herniation, if present. You will need a detailed analysis and assessment by an experienced Board certified Plastic surgeon, to address all your concerns. All the best!

It appears that you may have eyelid ptosis, droopy eyelid. Only on the basis of in person consultation with a baord certified plastic or oculoplastic surgeon, that conclusion can be made. Good luck.

Hi there! Great question. Have you had your eyes evaluated by an Ophthalmologist? You may have a condition known as ptosis. This is when the tissues don't hold the eyelid in a normal position and it can appear "lazy". This requires a different correction than a typical blepharoplasty which removes skin and fat. I would suggest ruling that diagnosis out before proceeding with a blepharoplasty. Hope that helps!
