Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures over the past 30 years. Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation. Chi liposuction is performed below the chin to reduce excess fat there as well as across the neck. It would be unusual for you to have had a dermal filler placed "below the chin" but if it was some of it would be removed as the fat was removed during liposuction. Reducing the amount of fat below the chin would not significantly effect or correct a weak chin if that exists. When a weak chin is present (which could be determined from a profile photo of your face), it creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face appears top heavy while the lower face looks short, lip fullness is de-emphasized and early formation of a "double chin" occurs. Chin augmentation using a silastic chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform the procedure in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. Hope this helps.
