Is it necessary to have post op massages after chin liposuction or just the support from the compression garment is all that's needed? Thank you
Answer: Chin Liposuction After Care--Venus Legacy, Exilis, Kybella, Ultherapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen, Massage Yes, you can have lymphatic massages and/or hyperbaric oxygen treatments to help reduce swelling after your procedure. To speed up healing, you can try adding venus legacy or exilis radiofrequency treatments. To improve final results, we will often do a kybella and ultherapy about 4-6 weeks after neck liposuction to get more of an outcome. but it seems like you really were more of a neck lift candidate to begin. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Compression vs massage following liposuction Thank you for this wonderful question! You will find that for every Board Certified Plastic Surgeon you consult with, you will most likely have just as many different post-operative recovery routines suggested to you. Both compression as well as lymphatic massage are beneficial following this type of procedure. I typically will request my patients wear a compression band that I provide as part of their post-operative kit for the first few weeks following surgery . I will also schedule my patients for a lymphatic massage between 3-4 weeks post operative to help reduce swelling. As always I encourage you to follow up with your Board Certified Plastic Surgeon as he/she may have a tailored post-operative care plan for you. I hope you have found this information helpful and I wish you luck!

Answer: Chin Liposuction post-op; is it necessary to have massages after? Hi, if you've just had liposuction of the neck, you should follow the post op instruction of the surgeon that performed the lipo procedure. I have performed many facial shaping procedures, over the past 30 years, many of which had liposuction of various areas including the neck. I recommend that neck liposuction patients wear a compression garment (band really) for the first several weeks. I don't recommend massage as I prefer that the skin not be moved relative to the platysma muscle below...it's better that it becomes somewhat adherent and tighter. If I have also placed a chin implant for the correction of a weak chin, I do not have patients use any compression garment.Hope this helps.
