Does Cellfina work on the front of the thighs?

Question

I have more waviness than dimples on the front of my thighs. Does Cellfina guarantee results? I’m leery, because it’s the same company that does Ultherapy and I had Zero results and I did it twice

Thank you for your question, This is difficult to answer without pictures and needs an in-person evaluation. The best treatment for cellulite is Cellfina. However, a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement. I recommend Cellfina in combination with Sculptra, and body treatments like Exilis Ultra/Venus Legacy, Cellutone/z wave. A VASER HI DEF procedure can be done for more contouring. Cost will vary, but see an expert for a formal evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer.

I have had great results with Cellfina treatments to the buttocks and back of the thigh dimples. Cellfina gets rid of about 90% of dimples in these areas. On the front of the thighs I would say Cellfina is about a 50-75% improvement. The skin on the front and especially the inner thighs is more loose which diminishes the effectiveness of the treatment.

Hello and thank-you for your question!Cellfina is the latest break though for the treatment of cellulite. The treatment targets the fibrous bands which are the source of the dimpling in cellulite. It is most effective for the treatment of deep dimples and depressions of the buttocks and back of the thighs. it is less effective in the treatment of generalized waviness. Cellfina is a minimally invasive treatment performed in the office. We are seeing an extremely high level of satisfaction for our patients treated with Cellfina. For patients that have localized areas of "dimples" on their buttocks and thighs, Cellfina is a very predictable procedure. Although best indicated for the back of the thighs, we have seen very good results treating localized areas on the front of the thighs. It is important to note that the treatment does not tighten the skin, but does result in smoother skin

Cellfina is approved for, and works best for cellulite on the buttocks and posterior thighs.  It works incredibly well for cellulite dimples.  It does not work as well for wavy skin laxity.  Skin laxity is typically best treated by surgical removal of excess skin, like a lower body lift or thigh lift.  Fat injections are another option for consideration to help improve and fill in dimpling.  I would recommend evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon who performs a wide variety of procedures for fat and cellulite treatment.  This way you can be better evaluated and then educated on what is available for you.   Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question. It is unusual for our center to treat cellulite on the front of the thighs other than a true dimple. There is not a good supportive network of fibrous tissue on the front of the thighs and inner thighs. If during a Cellfina procedure too much release is performed it  will result in greater skin laxity. Waviness should be treated with something like Bodytite, J-Plasma, or ThermiTight to firm the skin and tighten the elastic supporting septae. I will often combine Sculptra in the problem areas as well.I hope this was helpful - Dr. Moore.

Cellfina was not designed to treat waviness at all. Waviness is due to skin laxity and there is currently no reliably effective treatment for this problem. Cellfina can only reduce dimples due to skin tethering from septa in the buttocks and upper posterior thighs (rarely lateral thighs). Liposuction will also not help and may make the situation worse.
