Great question! Yes these two procedures can be combined and performed at the same time. There are several advantages including going through anesthesia (which has its own risks) only once and undergo the recovery period only once. For those who have busy lives and have a hard time taking time off work for recovery, this is definitely beneficial. A few disadvantages include having a bit more pain and discomfort (although not significantly more) and positioning of the body during sleeping as you would have to only lay side to side only. Each practices may vary, but most patients in my own practice who desire to have both procedures done, elect to have them performed together. With an in person consultation your goals can be reviewed and all the pros and cons can be discusses in more length. Best of luck and hope this information helps.- Dr. Roger Tsai @DrRogerTsai
Yes, you can have these two procedures done at the same time if you are healthy. The advantage of that would be a less expensive overall cost and a single recovery. The disadvantage would be a more difficult recovery because of how you need to position yourself. Ideally, after a BBL you only lay on your stomach to allow your buttocks to fully heal and to not disrupt the shaping of the injected fat. After a Tummy Tuck you lay only on your back to allow your abdomen to heal properly. If you do a BBL and a Tummy Tuck together you will be forced to lay on your side only which is not fully optimal for either procedure but it is doable. I hope this information helps!
Thanks for your question. This is a very common question. A tummy tuck and a BBL can be done at the same time. Even though these two procedures can be done together, they are best done separately. This allows for more predictability of the result. Furthermore, the recovery is more difficult when procedures are combined. The patient can only sleep on her sides and this makes for a very uncomfortable recovery. In addition, the post-surgery pain is much greater. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.Take Care,Moises Salama MD, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
Thanks for the question. Based on your complaints you will need a BBL and tummy tuck at the same time. But first of all you need to lose some more kilos. After you lose kilos, you should meeting with a Board Certified Surgeon and planning the process. After planning, everything will be better. I wish you all the best.
There is a difference between procedures which "could" be performed simultaneously and those which "should" be performed simultaneously.BBL and tummy tuck can be performed during the same procedure, however, some consideration should given to the nature of these procedures and the anticipated recovery period. In general, it is always best to minimize the pressure on the surgical site. The recommendations for these 2 procedures in particular contradict each other, with one necessitating prone (belly) sleeping and the other supine (back) sleeping. There is no perfect solution in this scenario. For this reason, I do not regularly combine these procedures. Side sleeping is sometimes a reasonable compromise. Alternatively, patients can rotate position frequently (on the hour) or use a specialty pillow to offload the buttocks grafted area. However, for best results staging or staggering these procedures is best. With regards to your specific question, stacking these procedures is safe, staggering them is relatively more practical/sensible (when one considers post op recovery). If one can make the necessary accommodations for recovery, the procedures should have no effect on each other. From a positioning perspective, your buttocks should be offloaded but prone or belly sleeping is discouraged after a lift. Side sleeping is likely best along with a buttock pressure relief cushion. As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
It is always recommended to have a liposuction with transfer to your buttocks first as this guarantees more fat to be transferred than when it is combined with another procedure . As a surgeon is only allowed to take only about 1000cc of fat in a combo procedure instead of 4000cc in a single procedure, 6 months after will be a perfect time to have a tummy tuck.Surgeons, Like myself offer online consultation, so that you can be examined.Choose a board certified plastic surgeon who is highly experience in Brazilian Butt Lifts. choose one wisely.
Hello,Assuming you have no preexisting illness or are morbidly obese, then you could be a candidate for this combination of surgeries. In a perfect world, sitting on your buttock for the first week should be avoided, especially if a lot of fat is being grafted, making recovery from a tummy tuck difficult. Go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons who specialize in body contouring. Best of luck!
If you are in good overall health and are at a healthy weight, it is possible to have a combined tummy tuck and BBL. During the recovery it's important to avoid pressure on your buttock so positioning becomes key. Watch this brief video for more information.Best wishes,Dr.Bruno
It's possible to do both procedures at the same time but I recommend breaking them up into two different surgeries to get optimal results. If broken up into two surgeries, you'll have more fat to use for the fat transfer and you'll be more likely to maintain the augmentation.
Yes this can be performed the same day assuming you have optimal health and the surgery can be performed within a reasonable amount of time. When combining operations the risks of blood clots can increase so you and the physician need to decide if the increased risk is worth the trade off. While recovering you will need to lay on your side so you would likely lose a higher percentage of the fat graft compared with doing a BBL alone. Hope this helpsJosh Olson MD
Some plastic surgeons do completely circumferential liposuction when doing a BBL (that would be a BBL 360), but others instead do liposuction to the flanks/love handles and back (that would be a regular BBL). Both “360” and “regular” include the fat transfer to the butt.
Thanks so much for reaching out. In order to get part of your surgery covered by insurance you would need to have medical documentation of rashes underneath the skin that overhangs in your lower abdomen. You would also need to have it documented conservative treatment that has failed to fix your...
