Thank you fo ryour question. I have my patients wear a compression garment (faja) covering all treated areas 24/7 except to shower for 4 weeks post op. This helps ontrol swelling as the compression on your tissues helps your body to reabsorb the edema fluid that accumulates in the tissues after any procedure. This can take quite some time to happen without help from the compression garments. It also helps improve contour. Compression helps to keep the tissues adherent to the underlying structures while healing, this can help prevent the wrinkled skin appearance that can happen when the tissues heal in ways we don't want them to.I would recommend you to wait until you're done wearing the faja to wear a bathing suit.
Hello, thanks for your question and provided information. After 3 months it's ok, if you feel ok to go to the beach and have a sun bath, besides that, you can use your bathing suit after a month and a half, but not to tight.
I usually have my patients wear a compression garment 24/7 for the first month and most of the time for 3 months. You still may have swelling at 1 month but it may be ok to wear a bathing suit at that time.
Dear GotaloveTati,4-6 weeks should be enough time for you to heal completely so you can be comfortable wearing bathing suite. But I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon. It may take up to 6 months or longer to see the final results, but you may look presentable in 4 to 6 weeks.
Giving yourself a few months to heal and for the swelling to subside sounds reasonable. You still may be a bit swollen but should be "good to go."
Thanks for the great question. If you have the BBL in April, you should be fine to wear a suit by July. I typically have patients wear compression for a total of 12 weeks after surgery, but this varies from surgeon to surgeon. Best of luck!~Dr. Sieber
