Does medicaid pay for body sculpting after gastric surgery?

Hello. I got the gastric sleeve done 2 years ago. I lost over 60 lbs and I almost feel great. With all the weight lost my butt is gone and my stomach is saggy. My doctor that performed the surgery says i am fine and just need tone up. But honestly I don't think that's is even going to work. I would like to know if another dr can perform like a brazilian butt lift with my insurance?

Thanks so much for reaching out. In order to get part of your surgery covered by insurance you would need to have medical documentation of rashes underneath the skin that overhangs in your lower abdomen. You would also need to have it documented conservative treatment that has failed to fix your rashes this would include antifungal cream is in powders.I hope this helps :-)

Thanks for posting and congratulations on your weight loss. There was a time that many insurance companies paid for excess skin removal after massive weight loss, but this is becoming more rare. Some plans will cover panniculectomy (removal of extra abdominal skin) when medically indicated. BBL is almost always cosmetic, so unlikely to be covered by any plan. A visit with and American Board of Plastic Surgery certified surgeon can help you to know your options.
