How can I make sure my nipples don’t point to the ground? (Photos)

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question! I was told I have a short distance from my areola to my breast fold. I want to make sure that my nipples aren’t too low when I get my breast augmentation. I am 12 BWD and from my own measurement, it is 5cm from my areola to my breast fold. I am hoping for mod+ profile. Aesthetics is more important to me than size! What can I do to make sure my nipples are in a good place? Will provide my breasts and my wish pic!

After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. Hello, thank you for your question. Yes that is a difficult one to treat, we try to stretch out the area during surgery but its something we can not predict. Post op we go over how to massage the implants. Speak to your plastic surgeon your options.

Ensure your breast skin below your nipple can stretch adequately to fit the implant.  If not, you may be limited on how big the implant can be.

Your nipple to fold distance should be on maximum stretch to estimate the largest implant you should go with. At 7 cm, an implant around 200 cc is optimal; at 7.5 cm, 250 cc; at 8 cm 300. Keep in mind that this is generalizing, and your tissue elasticity can change this equation.

Unfortunately, you did not provide appropriate photo to match your desired result. However, based on what can be seen on your photo, you may expect similar result providing that you do not end up with very large implants. A nipple to crease of 5 cm I would not necessarily call short.  Your surgeon may or may not want to lower your fold depending on several factors.  The desired photos you are showing us look more like a high profile implant than a mod +.

My recommendation would be to see a board certified plastic surgeon that has a great deal of experience in breast implant surgery.  There is a lot of planning that goes into sizing our patients and quite a bit of time.  Every patient is unique and a surgical plan for one patient may not work for another.  An in person exam is what helps the surgeon decide what needs to be done.

The best thing you can do to ensure your nipples are in a good place is to find an experienced surgeon and follow their pre/postoperative instructions.  During your consultation, your surgeon will assess your breast size and skin and soft tissue envelope.  They will repeat your measurements in the office and review implant sizes and your aesthetic goals.  Based on their assessment, they will decide how to best position the implants on your chest to get you the best aesthetics.  The weight of the implants will stretch the overlying skin and soft tissues.  The implants will descend with time and lengthen distance from the nipple to the breast fold. Keep in mind, it will take 6 months to 1 year to fully see the results of your surgery.

Thank you for your question. Your nipples are currently pointing in the correct direction, so you should not be concerned that they will all of a sudden be pointed towards the ground. If you choose a modest size implant you should have a great results. Good luck.
