Hi Cauliflowerisaflower, Thank you for your question regarding "how long does an upper body lift last?" If you take care of your body, your upper body lift should last you a life-time. After your arm lift (arm reduction/brachioplasty) and back lift (vertical torsoplasty, horizontal torsoplasty, bra straplasty), you should ALWAYS continue to eat right and exercise EVERYDAY. If you avoid ALL sugars, eat minimal carbs and exercise HARD at least 30 minutes a day, you should maintain your upper body lift results for a lifetime. It is NOT as if at 8 years after your upper body lift, you body reverts back to its original state. Good luck with your arm lift and upper back surgery. I hope I have answered your questions regarding "how long does an upper body lift last?"
Thank you for your query. Both upper and lower body lifts ,in my experience, tend to last longer than face-lifts, unless there is a gross change in body weight. The natural process of aging will continue ,of course, but there is no reversion to the pre body-lift situation. Please find an experienced Board certified Plastic surgeon who can examine you and help you with all your concerns. All the best!
Hello and thank you for your question! The answer is ultimately complex, with patients starting out at different points in term of their age, medical and hormonal states/conditions, quality of skin and soft tissues. However, in my experience, for most patients, body contouring results will "last" as long as patients take good care of their bodies and their overall health. That said, no one can "outrun" the effects of aging and gravity forever, but I would approach surgical body contouring changes with the mindset that the transformation is (and will be) life changing and life-lasting. Good luck on your journey!
The results from any surgery where the skin is resected and tightened will be subjected to gravity and loss of the skin elasticity and strength over time. However, as lower body lift patients usually have excess, hanging skin of the abdomen, flanks and buttocks, this hanging skin will not recur even though there is some relaxation of the initial tightness of the skin.
It is a total false information about Plastic Surgery lasting a certain time. The time a result will last, depends on age, stability on weight, genetics, quality of tissues, nutritional status, physical activity, areas of the body. It is never the same how much time it will last a surgery on a 30 YO in comparison with a 70YO, or a healthy person in comparison with a diabetic or an after massive weight loss patient, it will never last the same in some one who gain and lose weight constantly or someone who’s stable through exercise and healthy habits of eating. It will not last the same time a surgery in Asians vs Caucasian. Or someone active VS sedentary. Also surgical technics give different lasting results: mini faceliftmini resultsmini time lasting. If you are young, no illnesses, weight stable, do exercise, have healthy habits, don’t smoke, most likely an arm lift will be nice and tight 2-3 years and then the skin will start giving. If your degree of saggy skin is severe it will never go back to that. Nice results will last 7-10 years. Back lift is pretty stable all years. Just consider we are aging every day. Be encouraged!Dr. Cárdenas
Dear cauliflowerisaflower, your body will change with time. As long as you don't have major weight fluctuations, your surgery results should last for years. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
The longevity of the results from an upper body lift, including arm lift and back lift, can vary from person to person. It's essential to keep in mind that individual factors such as age, lifestyle, genetics, and weight fluctuations can influence the longevity of the results.Generally, an upper body lift can provide long-lasting improvements in contour and appearance, but it may not be permanent. The results can typically last for several years, and some people may find that the effects endure for more than a decade. However, the aging process will continue, and the skin may gradually lose its elasticity over time.To get a more accurate estimation of how long the results of an upper body lift may last for your specific situation, it's best to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who can assess your individual needs and provide more personalized information based on your unique circumstances.I hope this helps, best of luck !
The duration of the results from an upper body lift, like any cosmetic surgery, can vary from person to person. Factors such as individual genetics, lifestyle, and aging can influence how long the results last. On average, the effects of an upper body lift can be expected to last several years, but it’s essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including diet and exercise, to help prolong the results. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon for more specific information regarding your case.
The longevity of results from an upper body lift will vary depending on several factors. Some include how the patient naturally ages, weight/gain or loss, and any future pregnancies. Regardless, a patient will always be "ahead of the game" from before the lift was performed.
Hello, the type of lift depends on the lifestyle of each patient. Patients who maintain their weight, eat a well-balanced diet, and practice healthy habits might expect to experience better outcomes for a longer period of time. However, if a patient does not maintain a healthy lifestyle, the tension can be reduced in less than a year.
