How long can I expect Voluma to last in a jaw? (Photo)

Voluma is currently the longest lasting hyaluronic acid filler on the market with a lasting potential of about 2 years. Typically for the jaw, 1ml per side is recommended, with additional filler added after assessment. Going forward, I would recommend you to follow up with your injector to discuss the ideal time to inject the Voluma to maintain your ideal results.

Voluma is a very effective product in the jawline and can last up to one year or even longer in some patients. To ensure you get the best and longest-lasting results, make sure you work with an experienced injector who has had extensive training treating this area.

Voluma may lasts from 12-18months. Some people especially those that workout need more than 1 syringe or 2 to give full effects of jawline contouring and the filler goes away (metabolizes) much faster.  This is especially true with my patients in LA that exercise, diet, and use stimulants for weight loss. With that said, I am frequently doing sculptra along with the fillers or more long term fillers like bellafill and fat injections to get a more substantial improvement. Typically 1-2 syringes are needed per side and upon optimal correction you can expect the results to last anywhere from 12-18 months on average. Care must be taken to not over-masculinize the jawline. Make sure you see an experienced physician for an in-person consultation and examination. Best wishes.

Thank you for sharing your question.  Depending on the amounts placed (typically 1-2ccs per jawline) Volume can have results of 12-18 months in the right patients.  Like Ultra, Voluma is a hyaluronic acid filler that slowly dissolves with time.  You will not look the exact same over that time period but at some critical threshold of time you will see your results diminishing in size/contour.  This threshold is different with each person.  

The longevity of Juvederm Ultra can vary by treated location and patient. In general it will last about a year. When you are beginning to notice the effects that you enjoy are waning you can visit your injector for a top up. Voluma is designed to last a bit longer- up to two years. Another option for you to consider is Volux which is specifically designed for the jawline.
