Crooked smile after chin Botox, is there anything I can do?

Fortunately, Botox wears off in time.  It cannot be reversed.  The duration averages about 3 to 4 months, but the paralysis tapers off and the lip may improve long before the that.  If the asymmetry is severe, it is not prudent to match the other side.  Time is the treatment.

There is no medication to reduce the effects of the Botox. If your smile is crooked because a muscle is too relaxed on one side of the face then injecting a few units on the other side can make you look more even. Next time, the chin is injected I would suggest you consider using less units and injecting very low on the Mentalis muscle and away from the lips.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :)

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, Botox cannot be reversed. Your smile is crooked because inadvertently the DLI muscle was hit. You have two options here: You can wait till the Botox wears off in 3-4 months or you can have a few units injected on the other side to make your smile more even. I suggest the next time you have your chin injected using less units and injecting low on Mentalis muscle and away from the lips. I recommend having a follow up with your injector to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!

I'm so sorry that you're experiencing this. It's really hard to say how best to manage this without pictures. It is true that once administered, there is nothing that can be done to reverse the effects of botox - it's one of the reasons that it's so important to have a very experienced injector you can totally trust.
Depending on the cause of your uneven smile, sometimes treating the side with less Botox effect can help even things out until things wear off. If your current injector didn't offer this, it's possible it's because your unevenness can't be effectively treated, but you might want to get a second opinion before giving up.

Unfortunately, there is not much that can be done to reverse the effects of the Botox on your smile. Your smile will probably improve some over the next 4-6 weeks although it may take up to 3-4 months to return to normal. 

Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be used to reverse Botox. I don't recommend treating the good side because this will lead to problems with moving the food around in the mouth during eating. The DLI muscle was hit with the Botox inadvertently.

The chin botox probably affected your depressor labii and caused your smile to be affected.  You will have to give it 3-4 months to improve or else inject the other side to match it.

One of the potential side effects in placing Botox in the chin area is that you have your smile affected.  Unfortunately there is nothing to do now but it will go away in a few months.  Best, Dr. Green
