When I moved to Lake Tahoe, I met many beautiful ladies that looked awesome for their age; not fake. The laser treatments I had dramatic results for all of the sun damage I had acquired for 60 years in the sun. The botox and fillers worked quite well. You will receive the best care!
I am so grateful for Dr. Gelber! I am blown away by the drastic improvements in my skin's color and texture because of her treatments. She rescued me from acne scaring and melasma discoloration. It's very impressive to look back at my before and after pictures. I have much more confident in my appearance and can leave the house with out makeup if I wanted. Thank you Rebecca!!
My research led me to Dr. Gelber. With her impeccable credentials and vast, specialized experience, I knew I’d be well taken care of! My consultation with her was extremely thorough. Dr. Gelber was kind, patient and very attentive as I shared my needs/wants. In the end, I opted for a heavier laser treatment on my face and some threading in decollage area. After 6 weeks, I’m thrilled with laser results! And have already seen quite an improvement after 1 threading treatment! Unfortunately, I have a pre-cancer spot on cheek that has taken a few appts to erase it completely. Dr. Gelber has supported me thru this process and on her own time has “zapped” this spot. Her generosity and commitment to her patients, is one of the reasons, I will never go to another laser doctor. Not to mention her attention to detail, which yields excellent results! I look forward to continue to work with Dr. Gelber and am excited to see results of final threading! Thank you Dr. Gelber Cristen K.
I have gone to Dr. Gelber over the last ten years for fraxelated laser treatments, BBL, Botox to the jaw and eye area, filler, and vaginal rejuvenation. I cannot say enough good things about her modest yet very effective approach to creating a natural and symmetrical look. She is above and beyond the most professional and qualified cosmetic dermatologist I have met. Her office staff is discreet and helpful.I would let no one else touch my face.
I have Wrinkles above my lips and It has always bothered me. I've had one injectable filler and realize I will need to go back again as one wasn't enough. Dr. Gelber is patient and willing to let me go slow. She recommended more but I was skeptic. I've had a BBL by Dr. Rebecca Gelber and was very happy with the results. She is very caring and doesn't push you to do more than is necessary. Her assistant, Pamela, is wonderful. She is there for you, day or night.
Dr Gelber is truly the top when it comes to laser skin treatments. She is professional and gives you her honest opinion along with listening intently to what your desires are. I have had several laser treatments from doctor Gelber, from level 5 laser to a level 10 complete resurfacing. I believe Dr Gelber is in the top of her field, not only locally but internationally. She strives to always be up to date on the best treatments and what is up and coming in her industry. She treats her patients with tender loving care, honesty and always the most beautiful glowing skin.
I was really starting to look my age (52) what with all the age spots and spider veins that were showing up on my face. My facial skin was starting to look slack and one of my eyelids was drooping. I work with much younger people so this was a problem for me. I didn't want surgery. I didn't want to schedule incremental laser sessions. I just wanted to get it over with. once and for all, so I opted for deep laser resurfacing that only kept me home from work for a week. I am blown away by what a difference having this new fresh skin does for my looks and sense of self-esteem! No spider veins or coffee stains marring my appearance, plus even my eyelid got lifted along with the rest of my way tighter skin. I couldn't be happier with the results!
The benefits of my Threads Lift from Dr. Gelber are subtle, yet significant. The age lines around my mouth and smile area are markedly diminished, allowing my lips to look quite a bit fuller. Also, my forehead is lifted some, so my right eyebrow droops less, and my jawline looks tighter. There are no telltale facelift lines – none!
Great question and thanks for posting pictures. I understand your desire for privacy, but seeing your whole face with perhaps the eyes blacked out would make an enormous difference in good answers from doctors. As a female who is 55 myself and with a practice focused on non-surgical options for women 50+, every single one of us sees the issues first in our lower face and neck, but most of the facial issues actually come from higher in the face - our face is like a dropcloth over scaffolding. As we lose the underlying structure of muscle, fat and even bone higher, things start to drop and puddle at the bottom. The dropcloth also becomes less healthy, glowy, resilient and elastic. The most important thing you can do with the best ROI is to do everything you can to improve skin health. The glow and evenness is what you see and perhaps a bit of tightening, but it is a great boost and when you do have surgery, it will give you a better result if your skin is healthier going in. I can't see your eye color and hair and that background level of color is critical in picking the right and safe treatment. Results also depend on if you can handle downtime of swelling and redness but I'm thinking BBL, ClearSilk and either Moxi or Halo. So important that you pay the price to get someone with a top quality laser and also solid experience and training. Do less good work at higher prices with top practitioners every day over lots of inexpensive bad treatments. You can Botox the platysma bands under the neck. In the 50+ set, about 60% of my patients have good result and for some, it is either modest and not worth maintaining or the skin over the bands is too loose to snap back when the muscle is relaxed. Do NOT shop filler based on cost - your filler results are not measured in price per syringe - it is the injector and not the filler that determines your result and bad results can not just look bad, they can be medically dangerous. Someone who has been injecting 10+ years and goes to tons of training to improve their skills should charge you more per syringe than a new injector who took a weekend course last year. I can't see them, but it wouldn't surprise me if you could benefit from filler in your temples. Also modest filler at the angle of your jaw and the point of your chin, when done well can help straighten out your jawline and even make your chin from the front look a bit younger. Lots of people do it, but I personally hate injecting the pre-jowl sulcus and think it makes the lower face heavier which is the opposite of what you want. If you can, compare your pictures to pictures you like of yourself at 30 or so, with similar angles and lighting and you usually can see exactly where your own filler used to be. That's where filler should go - not stupid blown up cheeks and lips and tons around the corners of your mouth. That's just my opinion, but some thoughts for you going forward. Wish you all the best, from what I can see, you look like a beautiful woman so please make embracing your natural beauty and staying the best version of yourself that you can be a priority!
Great question and I'm glad that you're researching your aesthetic treatment. The good news is that it can't. Halo laser, even on the deepest possible settings only penetrates the upper layer of skin and into the middle of the middle layer of skin. The wavelength doesn't go deeper that that - not into the muscle or certainly not deeper into something like the thyroid. That is part of what makes it possible with Halo to even treat over the very thin skin of the eyelid without harming the eye.
Great question and glad that you're doing more research before aesthetic treatments. First off, if you don't have melasma you won't develop it. If you have had issues with melasma (perhaps with pregnancy or other trigger in the past), then Halo is still entirely doable, but with some preparation and cautions. I've been treating patients since 2013 with Halo, even combined with BBL (great combination) and have never had a case of hyperpigmentation in a fair-skinned person (especially one without medium-dark brown irises. I do strongly caution my patients on strict sun avoidance and protection one week before and at least one week after (2 weeks ideal). With that, your risk of hyperpigmentation should be minimal
Thanks for asking your question! First off, I would confirm that the IPL used was indeed a Sciton branded BBL. It is a better quality BBL with better cooling and many offices call their IPL a BBL. A true BBL will be better able to control to help you get a better result next time. You can check on Sciton.com to confirm that it is a registered, serviced system. It really does make a difference. Sometimes when offices are trying to go safer, they use a filter which puts less heat in the upper layers of the skin (where most of the pigment is) to try to avoid a burn. This means more energy is focused a bit deeper (where small vessels lie) and can result in some petechia, especially if there are little red spots or broken capillaries in the area. If it is an office with a true BBL, be sure to discuss your concerns with the office. Lasers are a bit like cars. You want a great car, but there are huge differences between users as well. In a FPII, it should be easy to help you get a great result with your pigment.
First off, I'm sorry you are going through this, but this should be quite easy to treat and end up with a good result and in the end still getting the benefits like the radiance and glow that we expect of these treatments. It is so tempting to try to fix this during the initial healing period with BBL or laser and this absolutely should be avoided. Some skin types are prone to hyperpigment in response to inflammation and it is important to not add more inflammation right now. The most important part of your treatment is very, very strict sun avoidance and protection using mineral (zinc or titanium) based sunscreen every day and reapplying every 45-60 minutes while outside. Also, hats and scarves. Any sun exposure after laser increases risk of hyperpigmentation Each country in the EU has different ingredients which are permissible, but you should be on prescription skincare with pigment stabilizing and lightening ingredients which in the US would include 6-8% hydroquinone in addition to vitamin C, kojic acid, tranexamic acid +/or cysteamine. I would not consider laser for at least 12-16 and only after you are no longer improving on prescription skincare. I would be surprised if you don't have a full recovery great result in the end
