3 weeks post Rhinoplasty and I hate my nose it looks piggy way too lifted from the tip, will this resolve itself? (photos)

Question

3weeks ago I had rhinoplasty I was very clear with my doctor about what I wanted and what I didn't want. Yet my nose is too lifted and I hate the way it looks I keep reading how it's too early to really know how it will look but judging from all the pictures and articles I have read my nose is unique and piggy like what can I do to fix this problem. I can't get over the tip of my nose and how my pores are very noticeable compared to my old nose. Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Hello, and thank you for your question.Unfortunately, it is too soon to tell the final look of your nose.Postoperatively, after a rhinoplasty, you can anticipate bruising and swelling that is noticeable to others for 1-2 weeks. Sutures are removed at 1 week along with any internal or external splints. You will notice that your own nose is swollen for another 2-3 months. Final healing time can take up to 1 year.Gary Linkov, MD

it is too early to make any determination because nasal swelling takes 9 to 12 months to finally go down. Return to your surgeon at six months and if still dissatisfied seek a second opinion from a very experienced revision rhinoplasty surgeon who does natural noses.

Hi thanks for your concern,please do not panic it is pretty very early to see the results of rhinoplasty .It takes at least 6 months for the nasal dynamics to settle and heal .The tip swelling will be the last to resolve .However in the mean time do consult your surgeon on periodic visits and do discuss if the need for steroid injection is needed to minimise the swelling.Good luck.

Your nasolabial fold is too generous, meaning the lip nose angle is too large; yours looks like it might by 115 degrees; ideally it should be around 100 to 105 on females. You will need a revision using a septal extension graft which will lengthen your nose and de-rotate you down.
