In many of the before/after pictures of dorsal hump removals, I notice that the tip of the nose also looks lifted and significantly smaller. I'm interested in having my own dorsal hump removed but I like the tip of my nose and don't want it to look any different. My tip has a very slight droop to it.

It's important to make sure all the components of the nose balance with themselves, and new nose balances with the entire facial features. If the tip cartilages are droopy and wide, they will be out of balance with the new nasal dorsal profile. Answer: Nasal hump removal with out any tip work? Nasal hump removal with out any tip work? Yes this can be done and it depends on the proportion of the upper nose to the tip whether or not that's in your best interest. An examination or photographs will answer that question.

The short answer to your question is: yes, it is possible to reduce a hump without altering a tip. Heres the medium answer: an aesthetic nose is all about harmony with respect to the nose and with respect to the rest of the face (and even body). Most rhinoplasties require multiple, small alterations to achieve a balanced and natural result.
