14 months post op. London, UK I was hoping to get a second opinion on my nose. The two main concerns Im struggling with are: 1. The cartilage in my tip appears boxy and pointy. I wasnt aware that a graft would be used in my procedure, and Im struggling with how firm and solid my nose feels. When I move my mouth, my nose remains completely stiff, and the skin over the tip stretches tightly, causing visible blanching, particularly when I smile. 2. The right side of my nose appears sharper than the left, and Ive noticed that breathing through my right nostril is more restricted compared to before surgery. Additionally, when I take a deep breath, the skin between my nostril and the nasal bone on the right side visibly inflates and deflates, which looks quite unusual. My surgeon has suggested filler to fix my concerns but I'm not sure this is the best approach.
Im 11 months post op from primary rhinoplasty. I have a graft in the left side of my tip. That nostril is higher and pointier than my right one, which has a more natural shape. Asymmetry is very obvious when I smile. Im just wondering if its normal to place a graft (cseg I believe) on only one side and if nostril asymmetry is an expected result. What would you advise if I wanted a revision to make this issue better? I wont do an alarplasty on my right, more natural-looking nostril. FYI my before nose was crooked at the tip but nostrils were symmetrical when I smiled. My surgeon said my cartilage was very brittle and I dont think she had as much usable cartilage to use as she thought she would.
Hi, I feel my Nostrils are asymmetrical and there is too much cartilage (is it septal cartilage) showing inside my nostrils. I also feel the tip is bulbous and my nose appears too big and too turned up for my face. Would reduction of this cartilage inside my nostrils be possible? And would this improve nostril shape? I want my nose and nostrils to be smaller and symmetrical, and my tip/nose more narrow and refined. What would need to be done to achieve this? Thanks!
I was looking into getting rhinoplasty for a crooked nose due to a trauma case caused years back . I came across online that the memory of the nose cartilage can tend to shift back after rhinoplasty. If this does occur will my nose look crooked like it did before the procedure was done ? Or will it be slightly more crooked then the nose I came out of procedure with ?
3 yrs post op primary septorhinoplasty. From the moment my cast was off i knew something was wrong, but I waited 3 yrs anyway. The front view of my nose looks very strange. Ive actually never seen anything like it before. The photos of before and after below speak for themselves. There is an actual complete break in the cartilage of my right alar rim. Saw my surgeon last week for rasping and he says my nose looks good and my alars are just naturally uneven. Any advice?
Hello, I'm 6 months post-op. My young niece bumped her forehead into my nose head on with moderate force. Only the lower third of my nose made contact. My nose was smushed into her forehead if you will. There was no pain, no swelling, no bleeding. I do still have some tenderness a couple of days later. The shape doesn't seem changed either. But I'm worried I might have made my nose tip weaker or displaced cartilage which will show itseffects later on. Is that possible?
I have extra cartilage protruding out in one nostril. My question is this something that can be corrected in office under local anesthesia and be removed? How quick is recovery usually? Just trying to find out if it is even possible to do without general anesthesia and an invasive procedure? I am not looking to go under general anesthesia or have an invasive open rhinoplasty with a long recovery. Thank you in advance for you help.
I am wondering if there is any way to just straighten the nose tip without having to break the nose or go through a complicated procedure. I dont have a deviated septum but some cartilage deficiency on one side following an impact which broke the base of the nasal bone right above my lip.
