Will these vertical creases disappear after recent tummy tuck? (photo)

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  In most cases this pleating of your skin will improve given sufficient time.  As the swelling resolves, and tissues soften, the creases will b less appearance.  Hang in there as it appears that you will have a nice result. 

Hello. Great question. Thank you for your pictures. Based on your description, you are very early in your recovery process. There is still swelling present and incisions haven't healed yet. It may take up to six months for all the swelling to go down. Until then you can examine your final results. Be patient. Good luck with your recovery.

Many thanks for posting your question.I completely appreciate your concerns, but in all likelihood, these creases will settle down and disappear. As you said, you are aware that you are very early after surgery, and it is always a worrying time in the early post surgical period. It's also hard to be patient, but you can't hurry time, and time is needed for things to settle.I hope this reassures you - good luck

I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a tummy tuck surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides  you will be able to see the final result of your surgery.

It is far too early to judge your results. The pleating that concerns you around the incision should smooth out as swelling subsides and tissues heal. Continue to closely follow your surgeon's instructions for optimal results. You will likely see resolution of your concerns over the next few months.

Hi, Congratulations on your body contouring procedure! At just one-day, it is really too early on the healing process and you won't see the exact results. Your surgeon is right, you need more time to heal and to see the results. Keep your diet healthy, rest enough and as suggested by your surgeon and you will see the results soon enough.

You are still early in the healing process and what you are seeing are not your final results yet. It usually takes around 6 months to a year for scars to flatten out and mature. Swelling and bruising may also still be present at this time and should resolve on their own as you heal through the next coming months.

Although I understand your concerns, I think that your plastic surgeon has advised you accurately. In other words, creases and other irregularities along the scar line should dissipate over the course of next met several weeks/months. Although easier said than done, patience will be your best friend moving forward. Overall, you seem to have a very nice early outcome. Best wishes.

Hi there. As you’ve mentioned, at just one day after your tummy tuck, you’re still very early on in the healing process and are not seeing your final results yet. I would agree with your plastic surgeon and say that you’ll need to give yourself some more time to recover before deciding if you’re happy with your results or not. Right now, try to focus on helping your body heal by fueling it with healthy meals, plenty of water and gradually introducing exercise back into your routine, as per your plastic surgeon’s instructions. If you’re still not happy with your results around the three-month mark, it would be reasonable to begin considering a revision procedure at that point.
