Is it risky to get Juvederm before becoming pregnant? Got fillers 2 weeks before I got pregnant.

There is no risk of your Juvederm treatment and your pregnancy post-treatment. It is recommended to wait for another filler treatment until after pregnancy. Best, Dr. Emer

Congratulations! wonderful news. Please don't worry the treatment was before you were pregnant and therefore poses no risk to your baby. The product will break down naturally in the body over a period of time. I would advise against any further treatments whilst you are pregnant and breastfeeding.

As you weren’t pregnant when you had your fillers you should be fine. It’s a natural substance and will be broken down by your body  in due course. There won’t be much evidence base out there as it’s very difficult to recruit patients for these types of research projects. Essentially though don’t worry about the previous filler but I wouldn’t recommend having any further treatment until after baby Is delivered/breastfeeding a stopped.

There is no problem with having juvederm injections before you got pregnant.  The juvederm stays where it is and slowly breaks down without interactions with the baby or the hormones induced during pregnancy.  During my last pregnancy I had HA injections because I felt all huge and ugly and I wanted to do something to feel better about myself.  (Against my better judgement I injected myself)  This was around the second trimester and the baby is now a healthy 13 year old with great grades.  Now, I wouldn't recommend doing it during pregnancy, like I did, but don't worry about what's already there.  Baby and momma are safe with juvederm on board.

If you weren’t pregnant at the time you got the fillers then everything will be completely fine. Fillers are made of a natural substance so most likely pose no risk even if you are pregnant, there have just been no studies to prove it. Relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Congratulations.
