Sure, fillers may soften the jowls slightly, but this is not the best solution. Adding weight to the bottom of your face is a Band-Aid for the real problem which is the fact that the tissues have fallen. Fillers are a half measure which I would only entertain if you are set against surgery or do not have the financial means to do so. A mini facelift will allow that sagging tissue to be lifted back up to where it fell from, thereby restoring a heart-shaped looked your face. See a plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon. If you've see a "cosmetic Dr. " or "dermatologic surgeon " you will not be given the real surgical options, and may get sold on fillers when in fact they are not the best answer.Best of luck!Dr. SubbioBoard-Certified Plastic SurgeonNewtown Square/Philadelphia, PA
Bylooking at your pictures, you do have early signs of aging face. You couldbenefit from a mini facelift to improve your jowling, and Fat Grafting with PRPto ad volume to your mid-face area. This is your best permanent option. Theother option is fillers and Co2 laser resurfacing. Chronological aging is not adetermining factor for a facelift rather physical aging. In my practice, I haveseen some 40 year old that needed full facelift and there were some 50 year oldthat only benefited from Botox and fillers. Having a facelift surgery at anearly age has no disadvantages, as long as you’re a good candidate for it.Since you’re experiencing an accelerated aging face, you probably need anotherone in 10 years to maintain a refreshed look.I would recommend that you find a facial specialist who has performedthousands of facelifts.
Thank you for your question, Ebs1976. You are able to address sagging jowls via the Laser-Assisted Weekend Necklift and Kybella. Kybella is a non-invasive in-office treatment with a short recovery of little to no discomfort. The Laser-Assisted Weekend Necklift offers the same type of convenient recovery but is slightly more invasive to provide a more extensive improvement of the jowls. Please consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon to determine the personalized treatment plan that is best for you.Best wishes,
There are many options but volume with fillers/fat/sculptra and skin tightening with ultherapy/thermage are the best options at younger ages to avoid surgery. Best, Dr. Emer.
Hi Ebs1976Great question! My Concept facelift would be a fabulous option. What makes the Concept™ Facelift so revolutionary is that is has the same results as traditional facelift methods but can have you back to work within days rather than months. If you are looking for a procedure that will flatter and rejuvenate you, without too stark a difference post operatively, then a Concept™ Facelift is for you.Do some research though and talk to a qualified and experienced surgeon whom you can build rapport and trust. They can also show you some before and after photo's and even perhaps, get past clients to talk to you.All the best with your journey and getting your desired results.
Getting a lower face/neck lift is fairly easy to undergo when done under local with a little iv sedation. It really gets rid of jowls and tightens necks up great.
How to get rid of sagging jowls? Jowls can be camouflaged with fillers etc but the only way to reposition jowls and remove excess skin is with a facelift. See a very experienced facelift surgeon who does natural looking faces and not the pulled look for the best results .
Your face is fairly thin, and though fillers can give a very nice lift in a 40 year old, a minifacelift or extended necklift would be your best options. In the future, however, you should realize that your face will continue to thin so the jowling will slowly come back over the next year or 2 unless you add volume of some type. The upside of doing the surgery first is that you'll need less volume to be injected than you do now. I hope that helps!
Hello. There are two ways to treat your degree of sagging jowls. The less invasive is fillers along the jaw line to recreate a straighter appearing jawline. The advantage is no surgery, but this will only last as long as the filers. Radiesse will last about 1 to 1.5 years, while the hyaluronic acid products about 8-12 months. The more effective treatment is surgery. Options really depend on your in office exam. Younger patients with mild degree of sagging may benefit from a short scar lift, or mini lift. Most patients will get the most benefit with a formal lower facelift, which may also include a neck lift. If you are interested in knowing more, make sure you find a board certified surgeon for a comprehensive consult. Take care.
In my experience, the only treatment that would give you significant (and lasting results) would be a lower facelift (or minilift). The muscles of the jawline should be tightened as well as the overlying skin. This would give you back your shape to your lower face and help make you appear more relaxed and less droopy/depressed. Many surgeons can perform this procedure in their office under local anesthesia. Please be advised to seek a surgeon who performs a few of these procedures every single month, on average.
