Infact, rhinoplasty is often performed under local anesthesia. The localanesthesia not only makes the region numb, but it also helps to control anybleeding during the surgery. I will often add sedation – either oral orintravenous - to the local anesthesia, so that it is a more pleasantexperience.
Thank you for the question. Although use of a localanesthetic is possible for some rhinoplasty surgeries, it is advised to usegeneral anesthesia for the safety and comfort of the patient. Some surgeriesare less invasive and do not require general anesthesia. Consulting with aboard certified facial plastic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty as wellas a board certified anesthesiologist will give you a better idea on what typeof anesthesia should be used in your specific case. I hope this informationhelps, and I wish you the best of luck.
It can be done under local but for your comfort and safety it is better performed under a general anaesthetic
This can be done under local anesthesia if the patient is very tolerant of the idea of having surgery and the associated noises that go with that. Most patients preferred to be somewhat asleep.
Rhinoplasty is safer to be performed under general anesthesia, it can also help the surgeon with fine maneuvers and by keeping the patient still. only small changes can be done by local anesthesia.

In our practice we perform all rhinoplasty procedures under general anesthesia by a board-certified physician anesthesiologist for patient safety and comfort. Patients simply cannot tolerate the injections placed in the nose and the osteotomies placed in the nasal bones. Very important to have a controlled airway so that blood does not get aspirated in the lungs.
Thank you for your question. It certainly can with nerve blocks both internally and externally. Having said that though, this can be really gruesome for the patient and it is best for the procedure to be performed under a general anaesthetic.Kind regards.Ivo
A rhinoplasty can be performed under general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia with sedation. Pure local anaesthesia, while theoretically possible, is generally too uncomfortable to be considered an option.
Alar retraction is one of the most difficult problems to solve .Often extensive grafts and a lengthy procedure are needed but it depends on the degree of severity
You don't have a crooked nose, you have an assymetrical nose; in fact all the left side of the face seems to be smaller than the right side: the orbit, the eyebro, the nose, the nostril and the nasal bone on the left side are smaller, noticeably, and this has no solution, with no technique, and...
Movement or rotation can always be a risk as can resorption and thinning out of nasal skin and visibility, palpability and extrusion.Kenneth Hughes, MDBeverly Hills, CA

Anatomically you would be a great patient for rhinoplasty. You should share your concerns and desires for the changes you wish with your rhinoplasty surgeon. The goals of such a procedure might include lowering the bridge, straightening the nose, and refining the tip. The cosmetic changes on the...
We are all trained a little different on how to perform rhinoplasty. It is important to always make sure the nose has good support. The 4 docs may have felt that your cartilage was soft in the tip and that you would benefit by a strut. That is something that can only be determined by actually...
