I had Restylane injected in my tear trough 3 years ago (2016) from Dr Mungo Chambers. My under eyes still look swollen from the injections and are blue, it looks like I have had a severe sinus infection for the last 3 years even though I don't, surely the Restylane can't possibly still be there, so I'm assuming dissolving that won't be that effective. One side is worse than the other- the eye I had more Restylane injected into. Both are uncoverable with even the thickest of concealers.

Answer: Filler lasting for years, e.g. Restylane in the tear trough area. Restylane in the tear trough area may last for years, and the 'blue' colour is likely attributable to the 'Tyndall effect'. Indeed, I have had many patients referred to me with very similar presentations - swelling and/ or discolouration and/ or lumpiness due to hyaluronate fillers being injected in the under-eye area (e.g. too superficially ( too close to the surface), or too much, or the wrong choice of product). It is very likely that Restylane is still there; so, the focal use of hyaluronidase enzyme to dissolve the filler is quite likely to yield some success. My advice is that you try the dissolving option first, prior to more invasive approaches, and you shall also find some improvement in the colour - note that I only wrote 'some' improvement, and that is because skin that is less taught has a darker hue (meaning that when the filler is removed, your skin shall be less stretched and, hence, naturally look a bit darker).

Answer: Pre injection pics needed Many thanks for your query. How does the lower lid feel ? If lumpy see your doctor as perhaps hyalase could help?Pigmentation under the eyes is likely to have been present before the filler - little can be done to improve the colour. You will need to hide this under makeup.BestMark
