Hello and thank you for your question. I typically tell my patients to refrain from using any anti-inflammatory medication, including naproxen, ibuprofen and aspirin, for one week prior to injections, since these substances can increase your bruising risk. However, one week after injections, it should be perfectly fine to take Naproxen.
It is generally not a good idea to take Naproxen before your treatment. Blood thinning medications like aspirin, Motrin or Naproxen generally increase the likelihood of bruising after injections. You can resume your normal routine 2-3 days after your treatment. Pain medications like Tylenol are safe to use prior to treatment.
Hello and thank you for your question. One week after the filler is injected is fine to have naproxen . You definitely want to avoid it ideally a week prior and wait until a week after.
We recommend our patients avoid medications, such as Naproxen, that may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising prior to injectable treatments. However, taking Naproxen one week after your filler injections is safe.
Naproxen is in a class of medications called NSAIDS. They thin the blood and increase the chances and extent of bruising from the treatment, therefore it is best to avoid them for a week prior to treatment. An alternative that will not have this effect is acetaminophen (Tylenol).
We advise not taking any blood thinning medications, such as aspirin or any NSAIDS (naproxen, ibuprofen, advil). These medications increase the chances of more bruising. However, one week after the procedure, it is safe to take Naproxen.Thank you,Chase Lay, MD
We recommend that patients avoid NSAIDS, (including Naproxen and Ibuprofen, etc) as well as Aspirin, for the week prior to procedures where bruising can be an issue such as injecting Fillers. Patients may use these medications after their procedures however as needed and/or prescribed. Best wishes,Pamela Stuart, MD
There is absolutely no contraindication to your using naproxen one week after your treatment. It is before the treatment that NSAIDs should not be used to prevent unnecessary bruising. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City
This particular medication thins the blood which in turn can increase your chances for bruising. Your best choice would be acetaminophen which is Tylenol.Good luck.....
Hi @kate03rich. Chances are the filler was not placed in the proper tissue plane. Most facial filler products that are injected into this area should ideally be placed in the tissue plane directly on top of the bone, or at least underneath the eyelid muscle layer. If a facial filler product is...
Bruising and swelling can occur after tear trough fillers. You may want to consider Arnica and Bromelain to help it resolve more quickly. This should improve with time. See your injector if you have further concerns or do not see improvement.
I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are having. It is difficult to determine possible causes without an examination. You can elect to have the filler dissolved by returning to your injector for hyaluronidase.
