Does Juvederm promote natural collagen production (lips)?

I do not find that HA fillers produce long term collagen results.  I think the lips go back to normal after the filler is metabolized.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Juvederm is a very safe and effective option if you are considering a facial filler for volume restoration.Depending on the area being injected, the product's longevity could vary (probably around 6-9 months in the active area of the lips). However, there are no good studies to indicate that the product promotes collagen "production" and I don't think you should start treatments with the expectation of long-term, non-fading effects with Juvederm (as opposed to periodic maintenance treatments).

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid filler that does not promote collagen production. you should expect around 6 months longevity in the lips. 

Juvederm does not stimulate collagen production.  The product should last about 6 months in the lip area.  The body will gradually metabolize the filler until there is no filler remaining.

Although Juvederm and all hyaluronic acid fillers don't stimulate collagen production, studies have shown that the expansion of the extracellular matrix (the scaffold that supports the cells responsible for collagen production) optimises the environment and function of fibroblasts.

hello, Juvederm itself is made out of hyaluronic acid, which in itself does not promote collagen formation like other products do (Sculptra and Radiesse in particular have particles in it that stimulate collagen synthesis).  However, any time you have any injection, or even just an empty needle, passed back and forth beneath your skin or in your dermis, that would stimulate a small amount of fibrosis/collagen (ie, like a scar!)  however, after getting a first time injection of 0.5 ml of juvederm I would not expect you to have any visible permanent changes.  But, you will have a nice immediate fullness that looks and feels natural to you!  enjoy!
