Hi Anne.  This is a very common occurrence with our patients and one of the reasons is that there is much swelling in the lips.  Because of this fact, it's difficult to put more than 1 CC in at a time and therefore many patients come back a couple weeks later for another.  In addition, patients see the "finished product" right after the treatment go down as the swelling decreases.  So, in addition to moving up to a thicker product, you may also want to consider more of the original product.To see an example before and after photos for lip injections in Los Angeles, click on the link below.

I think your lips look very nice and natural.  Yes, you can have more added, but do be careful.  See an experienced injector so your lips continue to appear natural.  

Dear Annemarie, I personally think your lips look natural and are well balanced to your face. If I was your injecting surgeon I would probably advise you to wait four to six weeks and then if you are still wanting more volume then you can add more volume. Speak with your injecting surgeon regarding the types of Juvederm and he/she can fully discuss the make up of the products and why they were developed for certain areas of injection. I see no reason to use Juvederm Ultra for lips when Juvederm ultra Plus is available and works great.   99% of what one wants to do can be done with Juvederm Ultra Plus and Juvederm Voluma.     My Best,  Dr C
