Both Restylane and Juvederm are hyaluronic acids or HAs. HA is a natural substance (complex sugar) found in all living organisms. It hydrates the skin by holding in water, and acts as a cushion and lubricant to reduce damage to the skin. It is found in connective tissue throughout the body, including the dermis of the skin. HA dermal fillers include Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, Voluma, and Belotero. Juvederm and Restylane both contain the same amount of HA in the syringe. The cost is usually about the same for each 1 ml syringe.
They are basically the same amount and should be considered similar. What matters most is who is injecting them and into what areas as the properties are very different. Cannula injections limit complicaitons. Best, Dr. Emer.
Thank you for your excellent question. The effects of hyaluronic acid collagen fillers, such as Juvederm and Restylane generally last for 3-4 months. Hyaluronic acid is a type of sugar (polysaccharide) that is present in body tissues, such as in skin and cartilage. Both Restylane and Juvederm comes in 1-cc syringes.
Restylane Juvederm and Perlane do come in 1 cc syringes. Restylane and Juvederm do come in 1/2 cc syringes also. I do keep these in stock in mt office. Sometimes someone just needs a little area treated. The 1/2 cc syringes do cost a little more than anticipated because we do not get much of a price break for the lesser volume .Restylane and Perlane do come in 2 cc syringes also.
Each is available in a one cc syringe. Both are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers.Hope this is helpful. Best wishes.
It used to be that Juvederm was a 0.8cc syringe. About 2 or 3 years ago, it was changed to a 1 cc syringe. I think there are 1/2 syringes available for both but are not worth it because they are much more expensive comparing cc to cc.
Perlane, Restylane, and Juvederm (ultra and ultra plus) comes in 1-cc syringes. Restylane also comes in a 0.5-cc syringe and a 2-cc syringe (which is being phased out--they are selling current stock only).
I think your lips look very nice and natural. Yes, you can have more added, but do be careful. See an experienced injector so your lips continue to appear natural.
Hello Ingridada,Blindness after fillers is a very rare complication. The reason it can develop is unlike the legs where there are little valves that make sure blood only goes one way, in the face these do not exist. If filler is placed into a blood vessel it can go backwards and...
Juvuderm may be used after Restylane. You are correct, both are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. Best wishes and good luck.
It's difficult to say from the photo if this is concerning. I recommend returning to your injector for an in person evaluation.
If you are worried about bleeding or bruising get injections with cannulas this limits complications and gives precise treatment. Best, Dr. Emer.
Your friend may be right, but it's hard to know without seeing a photo. In general Juvederm tends to be a thinner filler and actually it can have a translucent color if filled too shallow in the skin. So using a thicker HA filler like Restylane, or Perlane, or perhaps even Voluma might be better...
