Is it safe to use juvederm soon after restylane?

Question

I had restylane two weeks ago to nasolabial folds and lips. I really liked the results immediately after but now the swelling has subsided I need a bit more filled. My doctor is recommending Juvederm smile as this lasts longer than restylane (I had requested restylane at first since I'd had it previously with no side effects). Is it safe to use Juvederm in an area that was recently treated with restylane? I know they are both ha fillers but wanted to get a second opinion before proceeding. Many thanks :)

You can use both fillers on the same day so I do not see why there should be any problem with you getting one than the other.  Cannula injections limit any complications. Best, Dr. Emer.

Romom26  Thank you for the question.  When I perform a liquid face lift I utilize two or more fillers simultaneously.  The use of Restylane  with Juvederm should be very safe.

It is not uncommon for patients to receive different fillers of different composition and fillers made my different companies at the same setting. You do not have to wait at all to have another filler injected.

Both fillers are hyaluronic acids. There should be no problem using this fillers together or even at the same time.

Juvuderm may be used after Restylane.  You are correct, both are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers.  Best wishes and good luck.

It is not uncommon for doctors to switch fillers if the patient is unhappy with the result of one and wants to try another. Both are HA fillers and very safe in general. Might I suggest some filler be placed into your cheeks? When the cheek is lifted, less is needed to improve the nasolabial fold in a very natural appearing way, avoiding the dreaded "monkey" look when too much is put into the nasolabial folds. Perlane L, Radiesse, and Voluma might work better in you.

Both Restylane and Juvederm are hyaluronic acid fillers, and combining the two treatments in the same day or two weeks apart shouldn't increase treatment risks.  Good luck!

These are HA fillers that are close to being the same product.    Is Chevron better than Shell etc etc.    I use Juvederm for nearly every indication because I like the product, the results, and the company = Allergen.  So you can use them at the same treatment if you wish.  They are perfectly compatible.  My Best,  Dr C
