Juvederm little lump after 2 months: should I go to see Doctor?

If you have a lump after an HA filler injection it can easily be "melted" with a special injection.  I would suggest calling the office where you had the procedure and let them know what you are experiencing.  I would be very surprised if they would charge you a consult fee to see you in follow up to your previous treatment.   Good Luck

The hyaluronic acid fillers, such as Juvéderm, are malleable and moldable for quite some time after placement. I've successfully done that even 2 months out. Make an appointment to see your physician who injected you. I'd be quite surprised that they would charge you for such a visit. If they do, you may want to consider a different physician the next time around. However, if it seems that dissolving the lump is necessary to improve it, then there may be a charge. I won't charge my patient for dissolving filler if I feel that the placement wasn't ideal. I will charge patients to dissolve filler if I didn't place it.

A lump post Juvederm can easily be corrected. Consult first with your injector. If your injector can not address the issue, consult with an experienced and expert physician injector.

Without an exam, it is difficult to say what the issue is. If it is filler, then it can be dissolved.  Best of luck.

One CAN have an allergic reaction to almost anything, but a lump like this is not likely an allergic reaction, and may not have anything to do with the filler. For example it could be a small cyst or other type of growth. It could also be a foreign body reaction to the Juvederm or possibly to tissue(skin) pushed in, if this is at an injection site. You should ask your injector or a dermatologist to check it out. Because of the history, this would not be a cosmetic visit, but a medical one, which would be covered by your medical insurance if you have a policy.        jlr

Thank you for your clinical post. It sounds from the course of events that the
hardening experience 2 months after the injection would be atypical. Lumps following injections of products such
as Juvederm can result from bleeding in the tissues, hardening around the
product from immunologic reaction and can be addressed with very judicious and
dilute amounts of Hyaluronidase, an enzyme that can be used to break down small
amounts of the Juvederm product.

At this point in time it would be advised to seek out the
advice of your injector specialist as they are in the best position to treat
the problem from an understanding of what was injected and where. It is unusual for physicians to charge their
patients to manage complications and I think you’ll find that the office is
very accommodating.
